Day 6- Scatter feeding/hiding treats.
This may not sound like much effort on your part (and it isnt!),but dogs love using their noses!scentwork is a great way to exercise your dogs if you dont have the time or energy to physically walk them for long-scentwork physically tires your dog out quicker than a walk around the block.Scentwork is also calming and a great way to let out some of their excitement or stress from all the festive activities.you could hide treats and then let your dogs find them (start off using smelly treats and letting your dogs watch you hide them,before moving onto hiding them out of sight).or you can scatter their breakfast/dinner over the garden or even on a snuffle mat or a normal rug

Day 2- Temptation Alley Recall. This is a great way to step up your recall and teach your dog that recall still applies,even if there is something interesting they have to run past to get to you!Start off with something boring to run past and build up to more interesting items-make sure your rewards are super tasty/fun!

A simple way to mentally enrich your dog when it's warm,is through scatter feeding.i have been taking my dogs for a longer early morning walk and then late afternoon/evening I drive directly to a shady grassy area and do some scatter feeding using some of their daily food allowance.we are out for no longer than 15minutes,my dogs are happy and not overheating-bonus points if it is a new/less frequented place or if there is plenty of wildlife smells also!This is a great and simple low impact activity-scentwork is just as tiring as a longer walk and lots of dogs love using their noses!
This short activity has my dogs chilling out when we get home-so you don't need to always do big long walks to tire your dog out,especially in this heat 😀
