NEW TRAINING PROVIDER JOINS THE iPET NETWORK FAMILY //

Having recently joined the iPET Network as a Training Provider, Brian’s Buddies in Lincolnshire have over 35 years’ experience and qualifications spanning across dog and cat grooming, animal welfare, and teaching.

Lindsey and Sue’s aim with Brian’s Buddies (named after Lindsey’s supportive late father, who was an inspiration and helped her build her grooming career,) is to “help others succeed in the animal care industry.”

After building up a successful dog and cat grooming salon, doggy daycare centre and home boarding company, the duo created the state-of-the-art training academy.
They say “we offer the full package, and we won’t let students leave until they are ready. We pride ourselves on lifelong mentorships for all our students.

A professional, friendly business with over 35 years' experience and qualifications in Dog & Cat grooming, Animal welfare, Animal 1st aid ,Dog training, Behaviour and Teaching. Brian's Buddies aim is to help others succeed in the animal care industry. After building up a successful dog and cat grooming salon, doggy daycare centre and home boarding company Lindsey Teamed up with Sue to create a state of the art Training Academy Brians Buddies named after Lindsey’s Late Father Brian who helped build her grooming career and was her inspiration from a young age.
Sue has spent many years teaching all over the country as well as ran her own business previously.
Lindsey and Sue actually trained together for their first grooming qualification many years ago and now together offer the full package and offer practical hours until students are ready, we pride ourselves on life long mentorships for all our students.

iPET Network Level 3 Diploma in Dog Grooming and Salon Management

iPET Network Level 3 Diploma in Dog Grooming and Salon Management - Qualification Number 603/5945/6 (link to qualification on Ofqual register)

The qualification is designed for Candidates who wish to gain the skills and knowledge to prepare, style and finish a range of dog breeds, understand health and safety in a dog grooming salon, practice business management and gain skills in canine emergency first aid. The qualification consists of both practical and theory work.

iPET Network are proud to have developed this NEW qualification in the Animal Care and Veterinary Science sector. Candidates will groom at least 20 dogs to include a minimum of 10 different breeds, covering 6 different coat types but often many more. There are no pre-requisites to starting the qualification, meaning candidates can join at level 3 without having completed a lower level (level 2) course first which can be a huge cost saving to candidates.

Candidates will be trained in practical skills such as prepping, bathing, sc******ng, clipping, styling and nail trimming on a variety of dog breeds.

Units included within this qualification are:

301: Health and Safety in a Dog Grooming Environment

302: Promote the Welfare of Dogs conforming with Relevant Legislation

303: Customer Care and Managing Complaints

304: Assess and Plan Dog Grooming Styles and Maintenance of Equipment

305: Health Checking, Handling and Canine Behaviour

306: Prepare, Style and Finish a range of Dog Breeds

307: Canine Emergency First Aid

308: Planning the Operation of a Small Canine Business

Uniquely, candidates are continually assessed via practical demonstration and coursework. There is no requirement to sit a formal exam in order to achieve the qualification. This holistic approach has been welcomed by candidates to our Training Provider from across the UK, Ireland and Internationally. iPET Network designed the qualification to have an excellent balance of theoretical and practical learning. Feedback suggests that this qualification takes the pressure out of adult learning and this approach appeals to a wide range of Candidates. Our Training Providers strive to improve industry standards by ensuring Candidates walk out fully qualified, confident and competent in dog grooming.

The iPET Network Level 3 Diploma in Dog Grooming and Salon Management will demonstrate to an employer or the general public that candidates have the necessary technical skills and knowledge to successfully groom a range of dog breeds. This is a formal, regulated, nationally recognised qualification that will remain relevant throughout the Candidates career and can only be achieved by reaching the required skill level. It has been designed specifically for those looking to become professional dog groomers or those who already groom dogs (as a hobby or career) but do not currently hold a nationally recognised qualification. This approach and elements are unique to our course syllabus making the qualification a more rounded and robust qualification.

A fast-track option is also available for experienced groomers seeking a formal qualification to confirm their skill level or those who have undertaken other qualifications but see the benefit in gaining the iPET Network qualification.

A Lovely Review from Soraya

I thoroughly enjoyed my time at A Groom with a View / Brian’s Buddies studying for my Level 3 Dog Grooming qualification. Lindsey and her team are welcoming, supportive and were available throughout.

We trained in small groups (max 3:1), with Lindsey and had use of high quality tools and equipment some of which I use in my own salon now.

What has been really invaluable to me is the support that continues after qualification with Lindsey being available and responding swiftly, to any questions I may have as I develop my own business and clientel.

Amazing news, we will now be delivering Level 3 diploma in dog grooming by ipet Network ! We’ve teamed up with Sue Smith to deliver high quality teaching and offer life time mentorship once qualified. Lindsey will also be able to offer a regulated cat grooming course with ipet.

Excited to be a part if this 🥰

It's been an interesting couple of weeks meeting like minded people. People who share our passion and vision.

We are happy to say after another successful meeting today, all Phase One retail units are now taken and also one from the next phase!!

We sincerely hope this will be the start of things to come for this corner of town, and the town in general, it will however need the support of local people.

Over the next few weeks we will introduce you to the new businesses and we encourage everyone to spread the word to make it a success!

PLEASE HELP US TO KEEP OUR DREAM ALIVE
For a long time I have known that our only real hope of survival was to build more kennels at our main kennels at Cottam but we have never ever had the surplus funds to do that whilst another dog needs our help who would die if we did not have the funds to save them.

So on we stumble never being able to let a dog die but knowing that keeping on taking emergency boarding kennels would mean our downfall in the end. Every chance of getting more kennels has always failed and many nights I have lain awake in a blind panic totally not knowing what to do.

Finally we have some real hope in the form of an angel called Kelly Ann who has donated to us the kennel panels and pop up hatches you see in the picture and with your help we will be able to build 12 more kennels on our Cottam site. Kennels that will save the lives of dogs for whom Doris Banham Dog Rescue is their last chance to live.

We still want to build more but this is a totally massive step in sustaining our survival and we would like to thank Kelly Ann from the bottom of our hearts and the hearts of all the dogs who will find safe haven in them.

The team will be building the kennels themselves but we need the building materials to complete them : breeze blocks, cement, sand, wood, roofing sheets, screws, roofing.

Please please if you are a builder, or know of a builder who would like to donate some of these materials? Please get them to pm us.

Or you would like to donate towards the cost of this – that would be totally wonderful.

We need to move this ahead as quickly as we possibly can to enable us to survive until the kennels are constructed. Our dogs depend on our survival for their own survival.

Please please, if you can even donate £1, it WILL make a difference and will go directly to building these life saving kennels.

We’ve been working hard behind the scenes to find a more suitable premises for Brians Buddies and think we may have found just the right place 🥳 its early days as we need to sign the lease and its not quite finished its refit .

we are excited if all being well to extend our Services to a pet food and accessory shop . Our Academy will hopefully move here so students will have more options for days they can attend the courses.
