Wow! Just a small glimpse of the many paws I've had the honour of looking after 💓

After nearly 8 years of working with dogs I'm heartbroken to say I am hanging up my shears and closing the grooming salon.
Despite my best efforts my disabilities were worsening due to the physical toll grooming takes so I have had to make the decision to rest, heal and look for a new venture where I can hopefully help others.

I'm taking a different path, one that is close to my heart and will start training to become a counsellor in the new year. Although the clients may be less hairy in general I'm sure I will find a way to incorporate some canine therapy 😉🐩

I want to say a MASSIVE thankyou to all of my clients, friends, Debra Williams and Hannah Cowdall Without you my business wouldn't have thrived the way it did and brought so much joy, pet therapy, muddy walks and zoomies into my life.

I'm truly grateful to have met you and your dogs, many of you have become good friends and we have shared many happy moments.

Deb will be boarding for the next year before hanging up her leads for a while, our Hannah will still be keeping up her phenomenal step count and taking our walking clients on their adventures.

Hey 👋 so I've been kind of quiet, just doing a quick update as it's easier on here and the brain fog is real. Unless I write down who I've contacted you're in danger of multiple messages 😅
I'm still off sick and in all honesty probably will be until at least the end of the year. Although I made some headway with the hip there are numerous spinal issues at play that need treating (hopefully 🤞) along with a healthy dose of chronic fatigue syndrome 🤦‍♀️
Really sorry I stopped replying to messages for a little while, it just all got a bit overwhelming and upsetting and I needed some space so I turned my phone off. I still miss All of the dogs and hope you're all OK! Jemma x

It's far too hot for dog walks with Hannah this week, so it's home visits and brain games with lots of fuss and tlc (as always) to keep our furry walking clients safe. Please let Hannah know if there's any changes to the usual schedule 💞🐾

Hi folks I know I've been a little quiet on here, I'm still off work with my hip / back pain and quite frankly I'm exhausted. I've had lots of wonderful messages of support but sadly some not so nice messages too 💔

I know it's a pain in the backside me having to cancel appointments but please know that if I could work I absolutely would. I adore your dogs, I really miss them and worked hard to create a calm loving environment where they feel safe whilst being groomed with someone they know and trust. This is also how I pay my mortgage so being off, drugged up and in pain is no fun!

The small minority who chose not to show kindness have now been let go 👋. As always a huge Thankyou to everyone else who makes me feel a bit better with every message and to my local groomers who are taking good care of your pups 💕🐾

Also super grateful for my wonderful team, Deb and Hannah who keep your dogs walked and looked after everyday 🐶

It's taken me a little while to post these memories, we had such a special bond it really hurts losing this beautiful girl Kira 💔, part of me went with her as she crossed the Rainbow Bridge 💕😪 each of your dogs truly become part of my extended fur family. Blessed to have such wonderful moments with her 🐾 she always hopped straight into the bath with a waggy tail and new exactly where the treats were! I'll really miss you 🐾 Thankyou for letting me share her Collette x

*Quick client update*

I'm still on crutches and in a lot of pain with my hip despite the morphine and cocktail of meds 😖 I have been really focused on getting back to work and catching up with grooming all of the dogs I've missed but I've realised this is a wake up call to be kind to myself and rest up, go with the flow and wait for my orthopaedic surgeon to do his magic 🙌

On a positive note I made it outside to sit in my salon today and admire the gorgeous views and connect with my dogs for some doggy massage in the sun 😍

Morning 💕 gutted to say this but I've been working on a hip tear for a while, I've managed to overdo it and now done some real damage 😩 awaiting scan results to decide upon surgery. I cannot weight bear and on some hefty painkillers which means your dog's would have some wacky hair styles if I attempted to work 🥴 I've got no choice but to cancel upcoming grooms and rest up 😭

Luckily I know some fabulous groomers in the area who will treat your dog's with love and care if your pup is due for a groom soon, Netty at and Leigh at are local to Rainford and Sarah at in Skelmersdale

Hello! Hope you and your pups are all doing well 💕 just a quick update!
I know I've been quiet for a while, I've been focusing on trying to get better during lockdown and battling with this ME and pain. It's SUPER frustrating but it seems I simply can't do as much as I'm used to no matter what I do 💔

With restrictions set to lift soon on dog grooming I know there will be a rush of bookings 🐕✂️ I adore grooming and making your dog's feel the best they can but going forward I will only be able to work part-time and can no longer manage very heavy or aggressive dogs.

There may be longer than usual wait times so if this doesn't work for you let me know and I can refer to other wonderful groomers in the area 🐾I certainly don't want your dog's to suffer.

Just know that I appreciate you and adore all of your dogs, big, small, bonkers, lovable and naughty!! 😂🐕

This is a bit of a personal post but I wanted to say a big thankyou to my clients for being understanding 💞

As some of you know I've been battling with ME / Chronic fatigue and chronic pain for a long long time.
Being a business owner I'm always on the go, always looking to grow business and help as many dogs and their owners as I can!
Managing this illness has gone against everything I want to do, I care greatly for my clients and I want to see as many new people and paws as possible, learn about new styles, techniques and ways to help anxious dogs, increase clients for my staff who are walking and boarding and of course pay my bills.... so learning to slow down physically isn't something I'm very good at! 🙉

December is a crazy month for dog groomers everywhere as we work to get your dogs looking and feeling their best for Christmas and it was no exception last year so I ignored my symptoms. Sadly its all caught up with me and I've had a massive burn out 😵 I just can't do the littlest things right now.

So I'm learning to pace myself and work my way out of this crash and this may mean your dog would have to wait a little longer than normal while I navigate this illness and do what I can 😬

Dog grooming is vital for the welfare of dogs, especially those with long fur so I'll do my very best to book them in under current restrictions and make sure they stay happy and comfortable. Of course if you don't want to wait I totally understand and don't feel bad about going elsewhere, the welfare of your dog always comes first! 💞🐾

Fingers crossed with a bit of rest and tlc from my pups ill be back at it soon!

Advice to Pet Owners – what the law says about taking your pet for grooming.

The latest lock down is because we need to prevent transmission of the virus. We need to stay at home - there are of course exemptions, food shopping, exercising your pet - but we must remember every time we leave our homes we are at risk of transmitting or catching the virus.

You may also leave your home to take your pet to the vets if he or she is unwell. You can also take your pet to the groomers for welfare purposes – only.

But what does this mean?

Welfare reasons could include veterinary advice for a skin condition or excessive matting which is causing the animal distress. You should not be visiting for any other reason.

If you have concerns that your pet is suffering because they have not had a groom their fur is matted and they are stressed and unwell you may take them to a groomer. As the pet owner you are responsible for your pet’s welfare – talk to your groomer if you are concerned about your pet, but where possible, delay the groom.

‼️Update - salon closure‼️

Following further clarification from DEFRA and the CFSG I'm devastated to say the salon will be closed as of today.

Whereas they previously allowed for welfare grooms for dogs with the *potential* to matt they have now clarified that grooms are only to take place for the reasons I have outlined in the image below. If you believe your dog falls into one of the categories please contact me and we can assess on an individual basis. Each groom will need to be photographed and documented to prove that it's an essential groom.

I absolutely believe that regular grooming is essential for a dogs wellbeing however with further restrictions being set I must follow their instructions to maintain valid insurance and to avoid a hefty fine 😐

I care greatly for each and every one of the dogs that I groom and will always be on hand should you need any advice on how best to maintain their coat at home. You did a cracking job last time and hopefully we will be back up and running soon 🤞

‼️Hi everyone, there has been an update with regards to groomers operating during this lockdown and essential travel... See below‼️
If you feel that your dog is able to go a bit longer before their upcoming groom please let me know and we can push it back a week or two. If they are in real need of course I shall see them as planned 💞 I will have to document each groom to prove that it's essential at this moment in time, Thankyou 🐾

Hi everyone
I hope you've had a happy and restful Christmas 🐾❤️

Following on from today's announcement under government guidelines I will be remaining OPEN for dog grooming and Hannah will be continuing dog walks for key workers 🐾

✂️Groomers may remain open for animal welfare reasons rather than aesthetic purposes... So it's a yes to:

✅🐩 Long /curly coated breeds requiring clipper /scissor work
✅ Any breed with skin conditions requiring regular bathing
✅ Nail trims

❌No to short haired breeds (such as frenchies or labradors just needing a good scrub)

The same covid safe restrictions remain in place:
❗Please arrive at your designated time and place your dog into the outdoor pen, remove collars / harness etc and take it with you. Collect your dog at your designated time. The salon is disinfected between dogs and I shall be in PPE.
‼️If you or anyone in your household develops symptoms of covid 19 please let me know ASAP and we shall rearrange your appointment for after the isolation period.

I'm having a little break at the moment enjoying a rest, snowy walks and... As you can see... cosy evenings with my Pepe & Lilly 😅 but I will be back to work from the 7th January 😊

I know it's a rubbish time but I really do look forward to seeing you and your dog's and maintaining some normality for them at least ❤️🐕 I'm always here if anyone needs a chat
