Happy boxing day!

Another job marked on the list.

O/H has spent a fortune on her kitchen roof over the years. It's done nothing but pour water in. So I've been up to investigate and it turns out the lead wasn't secured into the stone work it was just stuck on with cement. I cut some old cement out to find a great hole in the wall, so I cut a new bit of stone filled the gap and pointed up to finish. I cut a new groove in the stone work and re-applied the lead, fixed in place and Pointed over to finish.

This will all be re-done in the new year when builders merchants are back open and we can get some new lead.

Scraped out all the joints in this Bathroom and re-grouted it. Replaced all sealent around bath, sink, toilet and around the skirting edge. Re-painted the ceiling to finish.

Couple of jobs today.

Building a stone gas meter cover, this was a plastic box before but cars kept driving over it and smashing it. So I dressed some natural stone and cemented them down put a flag on top to finish.

Little inside job at the same property to put a curtain pole up so the customer can put a curtain up as a draft excluder.

Loft insulation.

We was asked If we could insulate this loft as there was only 100mm of insulation up there and put some new flooring down for storage also to replace the loft ladder. We added an extra layer of 200mm loft insulation. Took out the old loft ladder and replaced with a new bigger set of loft ladders in a different place. Put new 200mm joists in place and flooring to finish. The house is starting to feel warmer already.

Odd job Monday.

Further afield today.

Started with pulling old picture hooks off the wall then onto changing a yale door lock that had broken lock button. Then on to dismantling a double bed and then changing the old shower curtain rail for a new one. Out side to re-hang a gate hinge add some new screws to an existing gate bolt. For the final part of the I was asked to paint the cellar with emulsion with a paint brush big job and an aching arm 😅.

Different job Thursday.

Started off with re-felting this shed roof today was a bit of a challenge due to no internal supports. This customer has asked if I'll go back to put some internal supports in to protect the roof from sinking and the felt taring.

Last job of the day to put up a new dart board for a young to be professional darts player. Also to fix a tv wall mount bracket in his room to get the tv on the wall.

Stepping stone Tuesday.

Customer wanted to create a path to the decking using some left over flags. Dug out slots for the flags. Then covered with w**d membrane and relayed the flags, it's now ready for the decorative pebbles/ slate to finish I off.

First jobs this morning a new customer.

Fitted a flat pack radiator cover and hung the mirror back up.
Fitted 2 new shelves in the living room.
Fixed curtain pole and plinth back to the wall.

On to the next recent new customer to replace a couple of toilet roll holders.

Karcher & Turbo nozzle doing its thing today on york stone flags.

Electric blinds in operation they do look like they go up wonky but they're riding over the control box not alot of space around them in mullion windows, I did put 3 up but forgot take a video or pics. One happy customer
