This lad can be a little nervous around other dogs and the peaceful cabin is perfect for him, he was a little wobbly on his legs today so we dried and groomed him on nice warm towels on the floor. If your dog has any special requirements im happy to meet them 💓

💥JACK UPDATE 10TH SEPTEMBER💥

So, there’s the not quite such good news😕…and then the absolutely amazing news ❤️

Jack has been staying at Acres Way kennels since we managed to secure him and they have been observing and working with him to see what his needs are currently and moving forwards.

Unfortunately, as we were not totally surprised to learn, Jack has not been keen to interact with people at all.
He has been given the time to try to overcome this aversion and offered gentle encouragement but he has made it quite clear that he prefers to be in the company of other dogs and quite frankly, people can take a running jump.
Tillys had made loads of enquiries both before and immediately after he was trapped to try to find a suitable placement for him but all rescues are completely overwhelmed so we struggled big time.

However, now for the AMAZING news.

Acres have pulled out all the stops for this lad and we are delighted that, with their contacts and knowledge of this field, they have secured him a place at a fabulous sanctuary near Manchester.
This place has many acres of land where Jack can run his little legs off playing with other dogs, can find his own little favourite place to call his bed and maybe snuggle up with a friend or two.
If in time he decides people are not quite as bad as he first thought, he could possibly be rehomed into a suitable environment but, if he’s never quite convinced of that, he will be able to live the rest of his days on his own terms but in a safe environment where he will be guaranteed a full belly.

However, obviously getting Jack to this stage comes at a bit of a cost.

We know things are tight out there, but if this little lad has touched your heart over the past few months and you would like to help us and Acres to send him on his way in the best possible condition (and maybe with a little backpack of goodies to help his new keepers), could we ask you to consider making a little donation towards him?
It doesn’t matter how small, Tillys constantly prove that communities working together can make a difference to the animals that depend on us and this is no exception. ❤️

Acres have covered his boarding costs and food themselves up to this point.
He will need neutering and vaccinations at a cost of approx £300
Whilst sedated he will need a dental check up and possible work so we are looking at a few hundred for that too depending on what the vet finds.
His transport cost is £150

We would suggest that donations are sent direct to Acres who are a registered charity. As such they can reclaim gift aid (whereas Tillys cannot) so your £1 can work harder.
