A big thank you to our farrier Adam Bliss Dip Wcf for coming down to get the boys properly holiday body ready.... shoes off and feet trimmed!

We are not sure how long the boys are going to be lucky enough to stay on holiday, but with Adams help, we know they’re safe as can be together! 🌞🌳🐴

‼️‼️UPDATE ‼️‼️

🌟further to my post on Monday after the government lockdown, a traffic light system has been implemented in order to assist farriers in prioritising essential work and what can be temporally postponed until they themselves become essential.

🌟Please do not worry I will allow no horse to suffer due to lack of care and that is the purpose of the implemented system, please contact me with any hoof care concerns you may have.

🌟Please be patient during this time as horses will need to be moved and rescheduled to suit the current need.

🌟Please if you, or anyone you have frequent contact with, is or has shown any signs please inform me so we can ensure you are not present at the time of shoeing. This is to keep me and my family safe!

🌟 Lastly I would like to thank everyone so far for being so understanding in the way you have responded to my messages and rescheduling

Many thanks
Let’s all stay safe

Adam

To my lovely clients

💥Coronavirus/Covid-19 Protocols💥

As we are now under new government measures, I will be applying the following during this period of time:

⭐️ I can not work from home and do feel my job role is necessary for horse wellbeing. However I will be asking all of you to keep our appointments as necessary as possible.

⭐️ I am happy to help myself to a horse that has been left in their stable, that would be my preferred way of dealing with the horses, if present please adhere to the 2 metre rule.

⭐️ I have hand sanitizer in the van, which I will use after and before touching any gates, taps etc.

⭐️ I will be thoroughly washing my hands at every appointment.

⭐️ Please no cups of tea or coffee (😭) for the foreseeable future

⭐️ At this time bacs payment is ideal as there no cross contamination. Cash to be placed in an envelope and placed in the van

⭐️ If you feel unwell or those you live with feel unwell, don’t risk it I’m happy to work on my own where possible or I can work with any nominated person.

⭐️ If I start to feel unwell or members of my family feel unwell, I will arrange cover during any period of self isolation. Consequently, if any of my local colleagues have to self isolate I am happy to provide cover where possible. We have a great network of farriers in the area and we will work together.

There can be no indication of how long this situation will last. It could be 1 week, 2 weeks or 6 months. The sooner it passes, the sooner we can get back to doing the things we love.

Finally, if any advice is required from my clients regarding hoof care during this time feel free to contact me any time.

Please share

Many thanks
Adam bliss

I would like to thank everyone in the past year that has entrusted me with the hoof care of your horses, both new and old. Another year has flown by and I am overwhelmed by the support you have shown, I look forward to another great year seeing you all and to meeting all the new owners and horses that may cross our path.

Merry Christmas to all owners and horses alike

And here’s to a prosperous new year

Left: hoof cutting (nothing applied)
Middle: hoof cutting that had been soaked in water
Right: hoof cutting with Kevin Bacon's Original Hoof Dressing applied

All 3 hoof cuttings were left in the sun for 1 hour. The results show how much the hoof without water or dressing shrivels and drys up. This is why shod horses clenches seem to rise much quicker in summer as hooves shrink when they dry out, leaving protruding clenches. Use of Kevin Bacon's Hoof Dressing daily inside and out of hooves will help keep them hydrated, reducing cracks and splits forming!
