We are all excited to be heading to Scout Activity Center today and tomorrow for some fun Valentines searches, Nosework Games Level 1 and The National Nosework Association Entry Stage trial.
It is going to be a busy couple of days!!

A cold and wintery day for our The National Nosework Association Entry Stage at Royal Engineers Museum today.
I co-judged with Suzanne Olford and left TO duties to Debs Channon today, thank you both for your time.
All the teams done a great job and the handlers never stopped smiling.

Congratulations to Tracy Occleshaw & Arfa for their win and to Sue Outten and Rosie for taking reserve

Doggy Splash Pools. ⚠️

We don’t just offer Hydrotherapy swims.. we also provide fun and fitness swims for your dogs! 💦

For a while we have been aware of these “doggy splash pools” that are becoming quite popular which is a real shame as they’re not as great as owners think..

Owners are putting their dogs into these environments where it is allowed for them to be jumping on top of each other whilst in the water, taking multiple toys in their mouths, biting and dunking heads under water and dogs fatiguing very quickly. Staff members have little to no control of the dogs nor any training/ qualifications. 😑

Leave it to the professionals…

Hydrotherapists are trained to work with rehabilitation cases and for fun and fitness swims, learning about signs of fatigue, safe handling of the dogs, appropriate movement in the water and controlled entry into and out of the pool.
We assess and reassess every client at every session and make appropriate notes which are filed to ensure that continuation. 😇

We work to these standards because we want to provide the best of the best to your beloved pet. ❤️

When looking for a fun or fitness session, look for your gold standard centre who is registered bodies such as National Association of Registered Canine Hydrotherapists (NARCH) or Canine Hydrotherapy Association (CHA) or similar. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

A little slo mo video of one of the Beancroft Scentwork dogs working in to an odour that was in behind the track of the digger on a rock. An open hide that was travelling towards the door over the trailer to the right of the pictue. Watch his tail movements. Fascinating.

I seem to have been driving for days and away from home for weeks. That isn't quite the case but feels like it. Up in Bedford in my capacity as co-founder of The National Nosework Association then teaching the following day before heading out to Norfolk then home to head up to Colne Valley to Judge then home to catch up on some business stuff (some of you will know that we are negotiating a new lease for our premises and it's not been easy going) then The National Nosework Association hat back on and up to Harper Adams to check out the venue for next years event then back to Malvern to actually spend a little time training my own dogs, this is a real luxury for us. I feel like I have been on the road and away from home forever. Yesterday was planned to be a productive admin day before working last night and that all went a bit south when one of my dogs was injured on what should have been our nice relaxing walk and we ended up Riverside Vets Canvey. She is OK but I may need therapy to get over the trauma of hearing my dog screaming in pain and not being able to see her. This isn't a moan, I am lucky to do what I love as my job but it does mean I get very behind on stuff so it is a plea to bear with me and if I am a week late on a call back then please understand why. Running your own businesses with 5 dogs and a home is a blessing and a curse.

Nosework & Trailing

I became involved with scentwork in 2012 and it has been a growing obsession ever since. The dogs nose is such an amazing thing and so under-utilised in training and mental stimulation for pet dogs.

Scentwork has been part of the K9 Solutions training package for about 5 years and it is now time to give it it’s own home and brand and so K9 Scent & Search UK has been launched. A dedicated page and website for the nosework and trailing enthusiast to find all the information they need on courses, workshops & trials.

I am a member of the Elite WSDA Scent Squad, a trainer and judge for Scentwork UK and have completed trail training with Jeff Schettler of GAK9 and Karin Lee of British Mantrailing Association.

Our aim is to bring nosework and trailing to pet dog owners for fun, fitness and stimulation. Give our clients something to aim for whilst having fun with their dogs.
