Please can all doggy owners keep in mind whether you’re in the garden inside your house or out on a walk that it is very important to keep your dogs cool and comfortable! ❤️

Dogs can sometimes find it very difficult to cope with the hotter weather and are more at risk of heatstroke than we are.
Heatstroke can be very serious! All dogs can develop this but some are more at risk than others..
Research has shown that dogs with a higher chance of developing heatstroke include those that are:

Overweight
Flat-Faced
More energetic
Older
Have longer/thicker fur
Have heath issues (including being dehydrated or having heart/breathing problems)
Bigger dogs

How do I keep my dogs cool this Summer? 🤔
Here are some tips to use…

Walk your dog in the early morning or evening and avoid the midday sun (make sure the ground has definitely cooled down in the evening)
Always carry water and something for your dog to drink from
Ensure your dog has a shaded space to keep them out of the sun
Give your dog a paddling pool to splash around in
Never leave your dog in the car by themselves
Put down damp towels for your dog to lie on
Keeping your curtains and blinds closed during the day to prevent your home from warming up when it’s hottest, and then open your windows at night to help cool down your house

As Amber is a fully fledged hydrotherapist, she will now be extending her hours into Thursday evenings for hydrotherapy and fitness swims (no treadmills).

Meet little Olive!

Olive came for her first hydrotherapy session over the weekend. Poor Olive broke her front leg in a freak accident while she was in the garden. She had to have a plate put in but the bone hasn't knitted fully. So hydrotherapy was recommended to help her exercise in a non weight bearing environment while it heals. Allowing her to have some much needed exercises and stimulation without putting excessive pressure on her leg.

Meet Handsome Ozzie! 😘❤️

This sweet boy came down to us today for one of his hydrotherapy sessions!
Ozzie has luxating patella's in both his legs and the swimming will be good for non-weight bearing exercise to help support his joints.
