NEW HOME NEEDED for beautiful Snowie ❤️

Snowie is a Pet Trails dog, who we all love and adore. Her family are wonderful people, who have tried so hard to make their situation work, and sadly, sometimes there are just some circumstances where it’s better for the dog to be rehomed for them to be truly happy. This is one of those situations.

Pls see below information from Snowie’s owner:

Snowy is an affectionate and playful dog, who enjoys cuddling and having her belly rubbed. While she doesn’t engage in fetch, or run long distances, she greatly appreciates attention and affection. She is a bit of a noisy sleeper, though not excessively so.

She has a bold personality, often perceiving herself as larger than she is, and will try to engage with dogs of any size during her walks. However, she is somewhat wary of men, and may attempt to nip at their ankles until she feels comfortable. Unfortunately, Snowy does not get along well with small children, or children in general.

Snowy has had no health issues and is up-to-date on all of her vaccinations; she is also microchipped.

We love Snowy dearly, which is why we feel it is in her best interest to be rehomed to a family—perhaps one with older children—where she can experience the love, freedom, and happiness she deserves, without restrictions.

She’s a pedigree Pomeranian her pedigree name is ‘Pomeranian snowflake’. She’s nearly 6 years old.

Notes from Catherine:

🐾 Snowie has to go to a child free home (older teenage children would be ok if they understand appropriate interactions with a small breed dog).
🐾 Please note if Snowie was adopted by a family with another dog, there would need to be some general management around food/treats and being seperated whilst eating, as she can be a tiny bit reactive and resource guard around food/treats. This is something I can give guidance and help with.
🐾 Snowie loves exploring and being able to sniff and roam, but she’s a tiny breed and will need some stamina building to go on longer walks.
🐾 Snowie is fun, very loving and quirky and does enjoy the company of other dogs and has lots of friends at Pet Trails.
🐾 She will need regular brushing and grooming.
🐾 A home check would need to be done.
🐾 Snowie can only go to a home to someone we know and can keep in touch with.

Pls message me if there is any interest.

Thank you 🙏 ###x

Thank you Shay Kelly MSc - Understanding Dogs for always saying it as it is! ❤️

Please understand what you’re doing to your dog. If they go quiet and you think that the training has worked, that’s not often the case! They go quiet out of fear, discomfort, restriction, anxiety and frustration.

They shut down and often start to distrust you more, which in turn perpetuates the exact emotions of anxiety and fear you’re trying to eradicate.

Please don’t do this to your dog.
Advocate for your dogs welfare, needs, physical and mental health at all times, to be the best guardian you can be. That’s our job and your dogs deserve that as a bare minimum 🙏❤️

Another beautiful boy to welcome to the Pet Trails family! ❤️

I went to meet him last week and oh my goodness! 😍😍😍😍 This boy is the most loving, sweet, inquisitive boy ever.

He’s a 3 year old Cocker Spaniel who is super friendly and playful and was so funny meeting me for the first time. He literally slowly and very softly sniffed every, single inch of my face and ears whilst intermittently administering cheeky kisses every few minutes or so. He was exploring my whole face. He then kept picking up pillows to bring to me ❤️

Just an absolutely beautiful boy. Can’t wait to introduce him to his new friends this week and get him settled into a lovely, balanced group of dogs for him to enjoy spending time with!

Welcome to the Pet Trails family lovely boy! ❤️🙌🐾🙏

Please give a big, bouncy welcome to this beautiful little boy! 🥰

He’s a toy Poodle and only 5 months old. He had his first Pet Trails walk last week and he did so well ❤️
We need to help him build his confidence and will do this by creating small and carefully constructed groups of appropriate dogs, to support him learning some wonderful social skills and forming some new friendships.

He’s super bouncy and playful and loves a cuddle 😍
Welcome to the Pet Trails family gorgeous! So delighted you get to grow up with us! 🙏❤️🥰

Friday faces! 🐶

Despite the rain, wind and blustery conditions today, all pooches went out, played with their besties, had fun, some special biscuits for one little girls birthday (thank you Laura! 🙏❤️🥳) and went home to dry off and snooze!

Have a lovely weekend everyone and we look forward to seeing you all next week for more fun and games!

Don’t be this person! 😳

I mean it’s quite amusing (although not so much from a safety perspective!) and I’m sure this lady is a lovely lady, who adores her dog and just had a very badly fitted harness, BUT, we need to be much more aware and engaged when we walk our dogs. Particularly in this day at age when everything’s so busy (traffic, people, other dogs etc).

In fact one thing that really gets my goat, (even worse than dog owners being disengaged), is seeing professional dog walkers being paid to walk clients dogs, wearing headphones and dragging the dog around behind them, totally disengaged from the poor dog. Don’t be that person!

Walk WITH them, engage with them, help them explore and have positive experiences, whilst you offer guidance and where / if necessary, reassurance. Be aware of what’s ahead so you can prepare yourself and your dog to feel/be safe and happy. Take the necessary actions to ensure all is calm and smooth. Be present! Be in the moment with them. A walk should be a bonding time for you and your dog. Our dogs don’t live forever - make the time we share with them special and meaningful ❤️

And always ensure your dog has a well fitted harness. Slide two flat fingers between the dog’s skin and the harness and no more. Dogs are very skilled at narrowing their shoulders and pulling back to get out of harnesses which are not well fitted. Always check they’re safe.

Be Present! 🙏
Be Safe! ❤️
