I’m moving to Solihull

Seriously if I had the time I’d move to Solihull and set up the franchise myself

Despite it not running for the last year since loosing our lovely Nic

I still get DAILY calls from customers needing the service

Solihull is STILL the most visited page on our website 🤷‍♀️

Someone help me out here!
I can even offer a payment plan to help someone get started

What do you do to give back?

I've come across someone this week whose ethos is similar to mine. They do a lot of volunteer work

I've always volunteered over the years, not as much in the last few years due to my own circumstances, but I'm always looking at ways I can help

I think its important to be the kind of person who gives back, whatever that looks like.

In our day job (albeit a business) we give so much to our customers and their pets. If you've never been around people with disabilities, housebound, older people who struggle then you've no idea how hard their lives are.

The help we give is literally life changing for them and its humbling to be able to be that person who helps

I have many other ideas moving forward when we are a bigger business how we can give back and help others and I cant wait to put these into action

What do you do to help others? either yourself personally or your business?

Its so busy even I've had to get back in the taxi!!

With only 2 operational areas currently our Chris and Sarah are having to hold down the fort for the whole country!

That means having to go out into other areas, and help customers there

But we do have driving laws we have to adhere to

So when a customer across country needed help, I had to step in as Sarah our MK lady had already done an 8 hour day and couldn't do another 8 hour round trip on top

In this role, sometimes its all hands on deck to get the job done

The sad little meows were enough for me to know I saved these cats from being thrown out into the street

This is such a rewarding role, we do alot to help rescues

When I say we are savings lives, this is the kind of way we do it

Ex Forces

Chris asked me this weekend what it was I saw in him that made him worthy of joining the Pets 2 Places brand

Its simple; people from certain backgrounds are helpers, they love helping people

Chris didn't see the connection between ex Para, where he admits he has had to some stuff that's not so nice, to being someone who helps people

But as I pointed out, he did it to protect the innocent who could not protect themselves, that's helping people and risking his own life to do it!!

Its so lovely the day before Remembrance Sunday when we celebrate our heroes, Chris is recognised as being a community hero now aswell

Highly Commended

Whilst Chris didn't take home the winners trophy

A Highly Commended is an amazing 2nd place

Awards receive hundreds of entries, so to even make the finals is pretty impressive

Chris (Pontefract) has made the finals in all 3 awards we entered him into.

Whilst its not the job of the head office to apply for awards for you, we will be offering an extra level of support to our first 10 franchisees

This Thursday I'm off to Stoke on Trent to support our Chris (Pontefract franchisee) who has made the finals of the Pet Industry Federation awards for the category of
New Business of the Year

Chris has done an amazing job of growing his business, putting in 110%, Chris's page has close to 3000 followers in just a year!!

This is the first time we have entered the Pet Industry Federation awards so to have made the final the first time we entered has been amazing

Today we submit a grant application to the Road Safety Trust to undertake an otherwise never been done before research project on monitoring how pets are transported

This will be an initial 3 year project to determine the impact of pets not being transported correctly

Research into just how bad the popular cheap choices of pet transport equipment are in partnership with 2 local university's

Research alongside RCVS on the impact on pets being transported in various different ways

Pets 2 Places are not just a pet taxi service but an innovator and game changer in the pet transport industry

As our vision and missions are coming to fruition, our brand name, awareness and place in history grows

If You're Going Somewhere Find Someone Who Has Been There Before

There's a reason franchising is so successful over stand alone start ups

Because a franchisor has been there, done that, got the t-shirt

That knowledge and experience which has taken years to gain (and likely thousands of pounds getting it wrong)

That's why there is a joining fee, which may seem a lot, but is a drop in the ocean compared to what you could loose;

A) getting it wrong
B) funding different marketing only for it to not work

Friends as well as franchisees

You may have seen my post yesterday about our Nic, she was our Solihull franchisee, yesterday was the 1 year anniversary of her passing

This picture is the day I met Nic in person after chatting on the phone a couple of times

I knew Nic was going to be a great franchisee from the day we met, not just a franchisee, but my friend

I do miss her dearly and wont ever forget the first franchisee of the first ever pet taxi franchise, she may not be here but she will always hold that crown ☺️

1 Year Today

Its been a year since we lost our lovely Nic.
We think about her often and speak of her often too
Nic may be gone but she is definitely not forgotten

Customers call and speak so fondly of her

Its such a shame we have not found anyone to take over from Nic in Solihull, we feel like we've let her down and all the hard work she dedicated to building such a amazing service with such wonderful customers

I hope we can find someone soon who will do Nic's memory the justice it deserves

Our thoughts are with Nic's family and friends on this difficult day
