I’ve now heard multiple reports of a Gastro bug going around at the moment.
If anyone’s pooch’s have had sickness &/or diarrhoea in the past few days please call me ASAP to re arrange your appointment!

As you’ll all probably already be aware there is a gastro bug going around at the moment! If your pooch is poorly at all please let me know ASAP as I would much rather postpone until they are better so I am not spreading it to others!!! Thank you so much!! 💜🐶💙

Today I was shocked to learn that one of my lovely clients owners was taken seriously ill with Covid 19 and placed into an induced coma and put on a ventilator for 16 days.
Thankfully he is on the road to recovery & back home with his family and the lovely Buzz.

His wife was inspired to set up a go fund me page so that they can put together ‘goodie boxes’ for all the doctors, nurses and carers who worked tirelessly to help Paul and so many others during the pandemic. IMPORTANT UPDATE

Unfortunately the guidance has changed yet again & groomers are being told to close unless it is a welfare based case.

I will now need to provide proof that all grooms are of a welfare basis which includes;
- knotting/ matting
- hair in dogs eyes so they can’t see or build up or gunk which can lead to problems
-ear issues
-skin issues
- long nails causing discomfort
Which all can not be delayed without causing discomfort/welfare problems before the end of lockdown.

If you think that your dogs appointment can be pushed back please cancel your appointment, reschedule and stay at home.

If you are shielding/vulnerable please cancel your appointment and I will advise the best I can over the phone.

I will be contacting everyone during the course of the day to explain/assist. Please bare with me whilst I do this.

Again I’m so sorry for the constant changing information but I must do my part to help stop the spread of this horrible disease so that this can be the final lockdown.

**Lockdown update**

Happy new year to everyone & I hope you all had a restful Christmas break.

Pet groomers have been given the green light to remain open for welfare reasons only & not aesthetic reasons.
I will be remaining open during the course of the lockdown for those dogs who need grooming on a regular schedule to keep them comfortable.

I will be reducing the amount of dogs per day so that the chance of transmission is limited even further as a precaution for now, until our figures begin to drop. I may contact you to tweak your appointment times but for now assume your appointments are the same.

If anyone does not wish to attend their appointment please let me know as soon as possible so I can move your appointment.

If you or anyone in your household is displaying symptoms, please do not attend your appointment. Please ring me and I will re reschedule you.

Wow! The entire haul for Birmingham Dogs Home - these guys are truly incredible for everything they do day in & day out for dogs in need! 💙🐾 myself, Vicky at Arnaldos Pet Parlour& Gracie at Hund are truly blown away with all the amazing things everyone has donated!! Thank you for making the doggie’s Christmas so special!

Couldn’t leave all the wonderful people out though so dropped a couple of sweet hampers off to as a little thank you for all their hard work!! 🐶

Along with Beki at Solihull Pooch Parlour and Gracie at Hund- Dog Grooming, we are pulling together to collect donations for Birmingham Dogs Home this Christmas!!

As many of you will be aware their campaign this year is ‘it’s been a Ruff Year’ which I think we will all agree with!! Despite everything Birmingham Dogs Home has continued to be there for all dogs that were in need of love & help!
If you have an appointment in December & wish to donate please bring along any donations to your next grooming appointment. Which we will happily take along to the dogs home just before Christmas! If you do not have an appointment and wish to donate please get in touch with myself or the other girls to arrange a drop off or collection.

After a stressful few days we have finally been given an update!
We have had confirmation from the Government website, The Pet Industry Federation & Solihull MBC that dog grooming businesses may remain open on welfare grounds.

Over the next couple of days I will be reading the new guideline changes to make sure we are 100% Covid compliant.
I will post any updates on procedures on social media and via text message to all those with upcoming appointments.

I will contact all those who missed appointments today so please bear with me whilst I get hold of everyone and I will get through the backlog of appointment requests this weekend 😊

THE UK is entering another national lockdown as coronavirus cases and hospital admissions continue to rise, resulting in the implementation of new rules and measures. Will dog groomers have to close?

Good morning

Following the recent announcement about a second lockdown I have received a number of messages and phone calls about upcoming appointments.

Currently it is not clear if dog groomers are able to remain open and we are now waiting on further guidance from the Pet Industry Federation.

As soon as I have more information over the next couple of days I will update everyone.

In light of the sharp increase of covid 19 cases in Solihull/Birmingham a friendly reminder for all my clients of our current & new procedures when dropping off/picking up dogs

✅ please arrive to your appointment at the exact time (the gate & door will be open so you do not need to touch anything)
✅ please hand over your dog quickly and leave immediately
✅ please wear a mask when dropping off your dog & collecting (unless you have a genuine medical exemption)
✅ please collect your dog promptly at the time given (this is so social distancing is followed & gives me time to disinfect surfaces between clients)
✅ please pay via contactless card payment where possible or via bank transfer

Just a reminder for everyone due in this week..

Please arrive on time for your appointment.
Please DO NOT come in EARLY & please DO NOT be LATE for both your drop off & collection times

No cash payments are allowed- CONTACTLESS CARD or BACS transfer the day before your appointment

You do not need to ring the bell, just come straight through to the reception area

Do not enter into the salon

Pop your dog into the pen area which will be directly infront if you

Please keep your phone on you at all times during the appointment

You will be given a time or one hour notice before your dog is due to be collected

We will require 24 hours notice of cancellation to avoid the full groom cost being charged

IMPORTANT- HOW TO DROP OFF, COLLECT & PAY FOR YOUR APPOINTMENT.

**SYMPTOMS**

To comply with government guidelines to protect other people & the NHS
(And the high risk members of my household)

If you or any member of your household is experiencing any symptoms of Covid-19 or have been in contact with anyone experiencing symptoms within the past 14 days DO NOT bring your dog to their appointment. DO NOT ask anyone else to bring your dog to the appointment as they will not be allowed into the salon. Please let me know & I will re arrange your appointment for priority after the 14 day quarantine period.

HOW TO DROP OFF YOUR DOG

Please arrive exactly on time for your appointment, early appointments will be asked to wait outside until the appointment time.
Late appointments will be asked to re book.
This is so all cleaning & sterilisation can be done correctly between clients.

*Once your appointment time arrives please open the side gate & close it firmly behind you. Don’t ring the bell just come straight through

*Approach the salon door, knock & then enter.

*Stay in the new reception area behind the desk

* Place your dog(s) into the pen

*Leave the salon immediately and close the door behind you please

*Please keep your phone on you. I may need to contact you about your dogs coat condition and styling options during the appointment.
You will be texted a collection time an hour before.

COLLECTION & PAYMENT

Please arrive at the given time. I will give you an hours notice of when your dog will be ready. Any late collections will disrupt the cleaning/sterilisation procedure and the next clients appointment& will be charged £10.
If something has happened & you are worried you will be late please contact me immediately so that I can help.

*At your given collection time please come straight through the side gate & close it firmly behind. Do not ring the bell

*Come straight through into the reception area, please stay behind the desk and do not enter into the salon area.

*On the reception desk there will be a contactless card machine for payment.
It will have been disinfected between clients but please feel free to disinfect again with the bottle next to it if you wish.

* Don’t forget to retrieve your dog from the pen!

* Leave the salon & close the door & gate behind you

As per the guidelines all dogs will be misted down with a non toxic, non irritant anti viral spray (Leucillin). However it must be understood that in the very unlikely event of a reaction, we can not be held liable.

I will only be accepting CARD PAYMENTS during this time NO CASH.

** SALON UPDATE**
Slow phased re opening now in progress

Following on from the PM speech last night, the salon will begin a ‘slow phased reopening’.
Over the next few days I will be contacting clients who had appointments cancelled at the very start of the lock down back in March. Appointments will be organised & allocated via welfare & coat type to begin with.

I have over 7 weeks (100 plus clients) to re book so there may be a delay on your appointment compared to normal, please be patient & please be kind, I promise I will catch up!

I will not be accepting new customers at this time.
Instructions on how to drop and collect your dog whilst maintaining social distancing & payment will be posted soon & sent to you individually.

Thank you to all of those who have waited for me & shown support during these unprecedented times, your support truly means the world.

**IMPORTANT UPDATES ABOUT THE SALON**

*Arnaldo’s Pet Parlour is still closed until further notice*

The Canine and Feline Sector Group (CFSG) along with Defra recently released a statement with some guidelines for groomers and other pet services in regards to continue working.

The guidelines are extremely stringent and include the following.

~ Maintain social distancing by keeping 2m between clients and groomer

~ Full PPE must be worn by groomer at all times & changed between each client including groomer disinfecting themselves after each client

~ Groomer must collect client from their home whilst maintaining 2m distance.
Owners should not drive to any appointment as it is deemed as non-essential travel
Groomer must drop dog back to owner whilst maintaining 2 m distance

~ Salon must be deep cleaned and thoroughly disinfected after each client

~ Vehicle must be deep cleaned and thoroughly disinfected after each collection and drop off and client

~ Dog must be disinfected with a pet safe disinfectant before groom and after being groomed

The British Veterinary Association have stated that it is possible for the Virus to remain on the dogs fur for a period of time.

In light of the guidelines released and following advice from the Pet Industry Federation it would be morally wrong & unethical for me to open during this time.
PPE is in hard to get hold of and is currently more needed by our front line workers.

Any accidents either in the grooming room or on the road would put extra pressure on our NHS and Vet services.

As previously mentioned I am available on Facebook or on the salon phone for any questions or to advise you all on home grooming as best as I can. I will continue to update the page with useful tips and videos.

As soon as it is safe to re open I will contact everyone who have missed appointments to book them back in ASAP.

I miss all my lovely clients & can’t wait to re open and see you all! But for now please keep brushing and ring me if you need to! 🐶🐶
