🐈 Cat visit game set ups 🐈

Cat visits aren’t just about feeding, they’re about play, cuddles and having fun. We want our visit to be the highlight of your cats day.

I’ve set up a seek & find game with Arlo & Bebe this morning, treats are placed high & low, I’ve looked after these two since they were kittens so they know the game well. Watch them spend time looking, a game that can last well after I’ve finished the visit.
This is a great one for your dog too.

Our tween class gets set a challenge each week to win the P3 VIP TROPHY OF THE WEEK 🏆

It’s taken very seriously 🤣

Last weeks challenge was to do the most creative and distracting thing while still gaining a calm sit from your dog. The entries were all great but Dougal and his owner were our winners. Deservedly so don’t you think??? 🤣🤣🤣

🥳 it’s our birthday 🥳

8 years ago today I officially launched P3 Pet Care Services, not really sure I could make what I loved doing my full time job! Here we are 8 years later, a team of 3 and busier than ever!

So much has changed over them 8 years, learning so much along the way, always striving for bigger & better and the best possible service for all our P3’s

This morning I was out early walking Ozzie (see our story’s) our day 1 P3 pup who’s been my morning walk for the past 8 years 🥰 and thinking of all I still want to achieve with P3!

As always thank you to all our clients, the dog walks, the cat & small animal visits, our training clients past & present, P3 would be nothing without you all, thank you for your support.

Remember me Thursday

Today is all about spreading awareness worldwide about the millions of pets waiting for their forever homes, the ones waiting for their second chances and for the ones that never got one!

I've been lucky enough to work with many rescued cats, dogs and small furries over the last 15 years, everyone of them unique and special in their own right. My own little cat Chelsea was a rescue. Chelsea was brought into the vets I worked at as a 2 week old kitten found in an alleyway. She's now 14 years old, she's been with us through everything including; 3 children, 3 different houses and everything in-between, her sassy little ways have made us smile and brought us so much joy over these years! I couldn't imagine life without her in our family. (Photo of said cat getting cosy in my clean washing basket) 🙄

Easy Peasy Puppy Squeezy instructor course is coming to Sutton Coldfield 2nd to 4th October and we have some spots for some lucky pups to come and take part in some free training, there is a spot on Thursday for one hour and a spot on Fri for 1.5 hrs

🌰 Conker season is here...

As autumn arrives, conkers (horse chestnuts) start falling, and while they might seem like fun toys for your pets, they can be dangerous! ⚠️

👉 Toxicity: Conkers contain a chemical called aesculin, which is toxic to dogs and other pets if ingested. Symptoms include vomiting, diarrhoea, and abdominal pain.

👉 Choking hazard: Their size and shape make them a choking risk or cause intestinal blockages.

🚫 Prevent accidents: Keep an eye on your pets during walks and in the garden, and make sure to remove any conkers they might find.

🐾 If your pet ingests a conker, contact us, your vet, or the nearest vet immediately!

⭐️Training highlight⭐️ Training is rarely a straight line and sometimes It’s more like a wiggly line that crosses over and ties itself in a knot! Dougal‘s owner has been so persistent in his training, always consistent and constantly striving to get the best out of him and she’s starting to enjoy the benefits of that hard work now. Dougal’s gone from pulling for the entirety of a walk, barking and spinning in a circle, pulling to get to any dog and had little impulse control to this video above. Over the last few months we have slowly built in lots of different strategies and training to combat these things while keeping training fun and positive, lots to do but we have to applaud how far he’s come 👏 Dougal greeted a few dogs today, played with some, a quick greeting with a couple and ignored others, this is exactly the combination we want. Well done Dougal 🐶

🐶 SNIFFING 🐶 Sniffing has so many benefits to your dog, dogs have around 300 million scent receptors in that little nose 👃, compared to our 6 million, you can see why dogs are nose first in almost all situations Here’s just some of the benefits to sniff and find games or slowing down your walks to let them sniff!… 🐾Mental stimulation 🐾 Calming (as long as not causing frustration where games have been made too hard) 🐾 Release of dopamine in the brain 🐾 Stress & anxiety reduction 🐾 Sniffing is how dogs find out about their world, it’s their newspaper 📰 🐾 It’s fun

🌟 Star of the week🌟 It’s only Monday and I’ve already given out my star of the week, but my gosh does he deserve it (and so does his owner) Dougal has come on leaps and bounds and his owner has put in heaps of work to get to this point. Walks weren’t the most enjoyable with Dougal darting ahead and across in front of them, we’ve worked on a combination of things with Dougal, lead walking being one of them and lots of impulse control. We’ve got more work to do but to have this today makes me so so happy because it shows how far he’s come. Proud puppy coach :)
