We will be outside practicing recall, lead walking, sit, stand and lie down with distance, duration and distance as well as Paw, Leave it and Drop it’s, all essential puppy behaviours. Remembering our wonderful RSPCA rescue dog, Macca yesterday who died 4 years ago. He left a big hole in our hearts for sure, but it made me think about all the Dorridge Dogs we have lost too. So many in the 14 years we have been running this business 😢 most recently we lost Ernie, Truffle, Sam and Bob. And before that - Milo, Harvey, Jack, Molly & Rio. As regulars for many years we have so many fond memories and a camera roll full of wonderful photos. RIP ### 💔

Lots of shade breaks, dips in and out of streams and rivers to keep your dogs cool. Really recommend getting cooling vests for your dogs, soaking them in water and putting them on them before the walks if you are at home. If not, leave one out for us and we will get your dogs dressed. They are great as they take the heat out of your dog’s body even when they are not actually in the river and keeps them cool for longer.

If you know of any pups who could benefit from our new Animal Kind 8 week Young Pups Obedience & Socialisation course please share! It starts next Tuesday evening 18th June at 7.30pm at the Oliver Bird Hall in Solihull.

Join us to practice socialisation and obedience with other pups the same age in a well-managed environment.

You will cover Loose-lead walking, Recall, using a whistle and clicker appropriately, Leave it, Sit wait as an antidote to jumping, Go to a Bed, Lie Down and Settle and Drop it for those pups who always need something in their mouths PLUS tips on mouthing and nipping.

We also send an email after the first class which provides you with access to lesson plans, video clips and lots of information.

It’s been a busy week for the dogs. Daisy got a new harness with her name on it, Benji did a spot of reading at Dorridge Park, Sasha turned 8 and wasn’t very happy about it and Maggie had a stinky dip in a mud bath and to top things off, she stuck her tongue out at Cerie 😱
