When it’s hot hot hot 🥵 it’s time to get out the cool mats after a very very early walk !! Looks like they’re a hit.

Well to say we had an adventurous walk this morning is an understatement!! I don’t usually have to do a river rescue !
I wondered why Dodger wasn’t coming back when my friend heard a faint whimpering.

My own dog Dodger had got stuck under some reeds lower down the river. We tried for a long time to loop
a lead round him to pull him up but without success.
He couldn’t get up the steep riverbank & I couldn’t get down.
Needless to say I had to wade through the river waist high detangling my feet from roots under the river & negotiating climbing over a tree! Not to mention move the rubbish thrown in. Wasn’t very pleasant through the scummy bit either!
Despite a few scratches, nettle stings & pulling my back Dodger was safely handed up to my friend while I negotiated the way back!!
Both home clean & safe now.
Both of us were scared. I wasn’t sure how deep the river was where he was stuck but it’s all worth it.
After all that I lost my car key. Thankfully we found it in the shallow part of the river.
He’s been told never to do that again !!! Phew 😥

I don’t personally know this dog but he needs a home. The owner has 2 disabled children so can no longer care for this boy. I’m told he’s 1 year old, not neutered.
If you know anyone who’s interested the owner has also advertised on Nextdoor & I can put you in touch.
