Fitted with 6ft fencing it provides a solution for owners that want to walk their reactive or high prey drive dogs off lead. Just under 4 acres, Eva's Green provides a safe environment for dogs who are reactive, escape artists or just need some space for recall training. It is found in Somerset near Yeovil, Glastonbury, Street, Somerton, Wincanton, Sherborne and Shepton Mallet.

First visit for rescues, Rosie the JRT x, Oxo the Parson terrier & George the Yorkie x! This little pack came to the field so that George can have some training time while the other two do their own thing - finding mouses mainly I’m told 🐭 😂🐾💚

Gorgeous shot of Maisie the rescue greyhound and temporary water feature that got sent to me a couple weeks back 💦💚🐾 she is a regular visitor to the field with her brother Rory. They are both rescues from foreverhoundstrust and come for a blast about together a few times a week!

Abbie on her first visit! Looks like she tuckered herself out 😍 she loves to run and play but gets a little excited around other dogs so she visited to get some off lead time where her Mum can avoid the worry… She was rescued in Dec 23 from Islay dog rescue in Scotland and found her lovely home in Somerset 💚🐾

Wow Lina the Jagd Terrier got all growed up 😍 stunning little dog! She visits for recall practise and a blast about in a safe space but didn’t want to go home and hid in the tunnel 😂 glad she's not the only one to hide when its time to go home! Eva does the same thing she makes herself flat haha!

Zoomies from crazy Al 💚🐾 he’s a rescue lurcher that visits weekly as he struggles with other dogs being in his space sometimes - we follow him on socials and it’s so great to see he’s doing awesome with his training! And it always gives us a giggle when his mum sends the videos of him letting off some steam 🤣

Got sent these pics yesterday of Sandy and Jack! They are both rescues - Jack, the brindle, is a little nervous of other dogs so he comes for a blast about with his sister Sandy. His Mum says he feels totally safe here which just makes our day 💚

Double trouble 😍😍 Ziggy the 6 year old collie & Bailey the baby 6 month collie! They are both rescues from Paws For Thought and have found their amazing home with Holli! Ziggy likes his own space and Bailey needs somewhere safe to train so they came to visit 💚🐾 aren’t they stunning?!

PSA to the Sunday walkers of South Wales

Control. Your. Dogs.

It’s that simple. If they can’t recall, put them on a lead. It’s been said time and time again but for some, it’s not sinking in.

Gabby has been training at Parc Penallta all day today with some of her regular clients and has had in one day, 8 dogs rush off lead at her clients dogs REPEATEDLY. One group of people even swore and threatened Gabby and her client saying they shouldn’t be there if their dog is ‘not trained’. (The dog was on lead and ignoring everything and focussed on her handler).

All of the dogs Gabby had today have been excellent. Loose leash walking, ignoring dogs, bicycles, children and everything else. 8 people potentially ruined GOOD training sessions by allowing their out of control dogs to rush up to on lead dogs.

One incident of four off lead dogs rushing a German Shepherd we had on lead was possibly the most horrific encounter ever. The owner of the GSD has significant trauma having had her last dog killed by an off lead dog. Her current dog is not aggressive at all but the owner is terrified of something happening to her. Four dogs rushed at her leaving my trainer to manage the situation by physically stopping the dogs, fearing she was going to be bitten, while the owner was in floods of tears having a panic attack. Did the owners apologise? No. They shouted at and insulted my trainer and client. This is abhorrent behaviour. This is ILLEGAL behaviour and will be reported.

At Valleys Dog Behaviour and Training we start the process at our field in a controlled environment, build up handler and dog skills, then transfer to the real world when the dogs are able.

Today, people repeatedly reminded us that most of the dogs that come to us aren’t actually the problem, its members of the public with a sense of entitlement to other peoples and dogs space that’s the problem.

It doesn’t matter if it’s an off leash area. CONTROL. YOUR. DOGS. Everyone has the right to use common spaces and some of the world need to learn to respect that.

Our Story

Eva's Green is a field designed for training and running dogs. Inspired by Eva, the rescue dog, the field provides a solution for owners that want to run their reactive or high prey drive dogs off lead. We provide a safe and relaxing space where you can build a stronger relationship with your dog though training with few distractions - a preparation for the real world. At Eva's Green you will not have to worry about that feeling of panic as another person or dog approaches and there certainly wont be any awkward shouting 'can you put your dog on the lead!' It is 4 acres and fitted with 6ft deer fencing. It is situated in South Somerset between Shepton Mallet, Somerton and Yeovil.

We also offer dog grooming at on onsite studio, Eva’s Groom. Our one to one grooming service ensures that there is only one dog at a time in the studio providing a relaxing environment, making it ‘perfect’ for ‘reactive’ dogs or nervous dogs that prefer their own space. Owners are also welcome to stay with they dog while they are being groomed if they prefer. This can be particularly helpful if the dog is worried about being handled.
