This Sunday - 10th November

Cornish Federation of Poultry Clubs Show is taking place.

This event includes a large exhibition of nearly 800 poultry and waterfowl on display as well as a sales section. Free entry. Come and have a look around a the amazing varieties of chickens, ducks, geese and turkeys on show.

Great day at the British Waterfowl association championship show at stroud yesterday.

Champion light duck with a white hookbill drake
Champion call with a butterscotch female
Champion Gander with a Toulouse
Reserve best heavy with a Rouen female
Best of breed German pekin

Great weekend had showing at the fed winning best goose/gander with a Toulouse goose, best light duck with a young white hookbill drake and best large australorp with a pullet.

We also had a fantastic trade at Carlisle on Saturday topping the geese at £600 for a pair of Toulouse and the big ducks at £500 for a pair of saxony runners. Thanks to all purchasers and bidders

Lot 1008 for Carlisle Saturday

These are both last years bred and massive birds with great width. Gander was fertile and goose laid this season. Having had a good breeding season I have decided to let this pair go.

If anyone wants to bid over the phone and needs birds bringing back I will be at the fed Sunday and down as far as Falmouth on Monday

Great news for the hobby 👌🦆🐓

Veterinary inspection requirement - LIFTED
Waterfowl at gatherings ban - LIFTED

For the avoidance of doubt, this applies to all of Great Britain.

We are pleased to report that our recommendation to remove the veterinary inspection requirement has been taken on board and we welcome anseriformes (waterfowl) back to the show scene.

It is with regret that the 2024 National Poultry Show will not stage waterfowl on account of space restrictions at the new venue, for this year only. At the time of booking, it was not clear whether waterfowl would be permitted in the same building, but we look forward to their return in future years.

The Poultry Club has maintained steadfast and firm relations with the authorities, and we are delighted with this announcement, following our pressure and recommendations.

Fanciers may wish to contact their local show societies to alert them of this news and help dispel some of the misinformation that has been spreading among agricultural societies over the past few months.

Thank you once again to all of the dedicated fanciers who have continued to write to authorities regarding this matter – your voice has been heard.
