A first year student from Bristol Vet School with no horsey experience. I have 2 weeks to train her up and not scare, flatten or deter Lucy from the wonderful world of horses!

Fun kind judge wanted for our in-house riding school show. Nothing too serious, but we would like to add a little more pressure by introducing a new face. Could that be you?
Full training and assistance. Minimum 2hr commitment on a Saturday or a Sunday.
In return: Cake, coffee, and a ‘deal’ such as free arena hire, lesson etc.

Few racehorses capture the public’s imagination quite like Shergar. A true legend on the track, he was destined for greatness even beyond racing. But instead of a peaceful retirement, his story became one of the most heartbreaking mysteries in sports history 💔.

🌟 Shergar: A Horse Like No Other
Born in 1978, Shergar was a magnificent bay stallion with exceptional speed and stamina. Owned by the Aga Khan 🏆, he quickly became a superstar, winning the 1981 Epsom Derby by a staggering 10 lengths—one of the biggest margins in history! 🏅

With multiple victories under his belt, he retired to stud in Ireland, where he was expected to sire future champions 🐴👑. But fate had a cruel twist in store…

🕵️‍♂️ The Shocking Kidnapping
On February 8, 1983, masked gunmen broke into Ballymany Stud in Ireland 🇮🇪 and kidnapped Shergar at gunpoint. His groom was forced to lead him into a trailer while the gang made their getaway 🚙💨.

A ransom demand of £2 million 💰 was made, but negotiations fell apart. The criminals—suspected to be the IRA—never successfully collected the money, and Shergar was never seen again 😢.

❓ What Really Happened to Shergar?
Despite international investigations 🕵️, no trace of Shergar was ever found. Several theories exist:
🔹 Executed by kidnappers when the ransom failed 💀
🔹 Died from injuries during captivity 😞
🔹 Secretly buried in an unknown location 🚫🗺️

Over the years, former IRA members have hinted that Shergar met a tragic fate, but no solid evidence has ever been uncovered.

💔 A Legacy Lost but Never Forgotten
Shergar’s disappearance remains one of the greatest unsolved mysteries in sports history 🏇❓. His story has inspired books, documentaries, and even films 🎬, keeping his memory alive.

Although he was stolen from the world too soon, his racing legacy lives on 🏆. To this day, the name "Shergar" evokes both brilliance and tragedy, a reminder of a champion lost but never forgotten.

WANTED! Anyone selling the classic riding school cob? Required for a private purchase by a Full Livery Client here at Cheston Farm. A happy hacking horse to ride on quiet lanes and Dartmoor. Older novice gentleman rider (70kg) is looking to replace his current sparky mare with something a bit more steady away. The ideal home for something that needs to slow down a bit and start living in the slow lane. 15-16hh, middle aged, cobby or IDx sort. Decent budget and coming to a very nice home with nice people in South Devon! Pls PM me if anything!

Glorious 9am Dartmoor start!
A last minute 2hr morning hack for a visiting couple of riders. Izzy and Elvis led by me and the new beauty Wisp who is on summer loan. Moor now about 4weeks no rain, and bone dry. 😎 so rain now needed!

The lovely Wisp has come to spend the whole summer at Cheston on our Moor Hacking team. A 6yo ID x Cob who has rocked up cool as a cucumber. Can’t wait to get going now.
