🤞 It’s the Eve of The Dog Friendly Awards 2024 and we all couldn’t be more excited for tomorrow as we see our small business recognised as one of three finalists nationally for ‘Dog Groomers of the Year’! 🏆
Myself & Lindsay founded Gallipots in June 2020, having to start again, feeling a little lost and somewhat afraid for the future after many years in the Pet Care Industry. Thankfully we managed to secure #StartUpLoan from the businessenterprisefund. We got to work learning how to design, develop and host our WordPress website gallipots.co.uk focused on Pet Health and Natural Pet Products which launched in August 2020.
As we knew we simply couldn’t have a meaningful and rewarding business without working closely and hands on with dogs, cats, small animals and their family’s, as we had always done over the last 20+ years, the hunt was on for a shop.
Luckily with the help of Jacqui at NT3, and a fantastic landlord (they don’t get enough credit), we found our Home in South Cave and with endless thanks to all the support from family, friends and our valued customers, we are still here today in what are very difficult times for small businesses.
A BIG mention is needed to who makes Gallipots a place you feel welcome and safe to entrust your pets for what is a very skilled and rewarding profession. Our amazing team of passionate animal lovers over the last 4 years. They work tirelessly to ensure not only the dogs and other pets we care for on their appointments are happy, healthy and looking great, but also make sure our paying customers get the best experience too. It’s no easy task at times but we are all so thankful for every one of you that chooses Gallipots. 🤎

Last year we came 3rd 🥉 in the Top 3 Dog Groomers category and we are really hoping to come back this year as winners and bring the award back to our little business and East Yorkshire.
This year it’ll be Nicola and Olivia’s (and hopefully Lindsay’s) turn to journey down to London to The Kennel Club UK Headquarters on Thursday 21st November where we’ll join exceptional pet care businesses from throughout the UK.

WHO IS THE POSITION BEST FOR?
🐾 You are someone who has at 3 months experience as an assistant dog groomer and are looking to gain a Level 2 qualification in Dog Grooming.
🐾 You'll have a very keen interest in animals, have a gentle and kind approach, be honest and have a positive attitude and have a friendly personality.
🐾 Learning new things and working in a lively environment motivates you and you enjoy keeping busy and working with a like-minded team of people.
🐾 You will understand and be able to achieve the correct prep work pre-styling for different breeds and different coat types. If you have little to no interest in a career in dog grooming we're afraid this position wouldn't be right for you.
🐾 It would also be nice if you have experience in customer care, call handling, appointment scheduling via computer software, payment processing and general day to day operation of a high standard dog grooming service.
