Throwback to…2017 I’m guessing?
I love looking back at my older work, I never forget pieces I’ve drawn, but must admit, with all the portraits I’ve have drawn over the years, occasionally I’ll see a picture of one and be like…’Oh wow! Now I’ve seen the photo it’s triggered my memory of it’. And it becomes a wonderful blast from the past, like a little time capsule.
I am always so grateful that I have got to be a full time artist for the past 15 years. What an amazing job to have…creating beautiful faces and making my clients so happy, I love hearing about each pet, and how much they’re treasured.

Possibly one of my favourite breeds to draw.
I loved this portrait of Manual. The challenge to capture that beautiful soft silky coat texture, and all the tones I got to use in his fur…making sure I got his gorgeous soft black coat perfect…so therapeutic.

✨HANDSOME MILO✨ What an absolute dream it was drawing beautiful Milo, with all his coats soft tones. With this portrait I worked from 2 references photos, one for his pose and the second for his coat colour. My client and I both fell in love with the pose reference photo, because it showed his beautiful character and kind expression. However, my client wanted him looking how she remembered him, which was with a whiter face, so I worked from more recent photos to achieve this. I love how his portrait turned out, and am pleased to say that my client was over the moon too. Sadly this was a commemorative portrait. It can feel more emotional drawing a little face that you know has passed. With all portraits, I am aiming to capture a little of their character, in their expression and bring them to life.
