We specialise in cat & dog boarding
The kennels are purpose built to the highest standards. We have gas central heating throughout with the extra comfort of a heat lamp for those colder nights or our residents who may require that extra bit of warmth. We have a separate block of kennels for our quieter or more shy canine guests, meaning that they can relax i
n quieter surroundings. Please ask when you make your booking if you think your dog would be suited to our quiet block. We have a variety of kennels sizes to accommodate dogs of all breeds. We also have kennels large enough for families of dogs, so your dogs may never have to be separated. The cattery is situated well away from the kennels, so there is no need to worry about barking dogs. Each pen has a spacious heated indoor area with a cat flap to their individual outside exercise area. The pens are designed to accommodate multiple cats, so if there is more than one cat in your family there is no need to separate them. All our pens overlook open fields or our garden area so there is always plenty of wildlife to watch to keep your cat amused. The indoor areas have shelves provided so your cat can sleep up high and in the colder months can snuggle up under a warm heat lamp. We provide vet bedding, litter trays, food and water bowls for your cat. If your cat has a favourite bed or scratching post, you are more than welcome to bring it along, we just ask that all bedding can be washed and tumble dried. We also board smaller pets eg: rabbits & guinea pigs

This year has been both a very rewarding AND incredibly tough year, as always we couldn’t have dreamt of achieving what we have without all of yourselves, every share, comment, reaction, donation and raffle tickets bought helps us in so many ways.
With the start of the new year, we want to give a shout out to the many many people that helped us behind the scenes last year.
Our volunteers are truly so amazing, the love, compassion and care that you give to our dogs helps them more than we can ever say! ❤️💪🏼
Vets4Pets Selby have as ever been so supportive and provided our animals with the best care making sure they are all fit, healthy, vaccinated and neutered where possible ready for their new homes ❤️ 👩⚕️
The help and support from the dog wardens knowing that they are “the good guys” and knowing how much they care for the dogs makes it a pleasure to work along side them ❤️👏

Extra special birthday plea for Morigon🙏
Morigon will be turning 11years young TOMORROW, this will be her first birthday in kennels with us and we are determined that it will be her last as well!
Morigon is a lovely girl who adores people and her toys🧸 She is dog reactive and so does need to be an only pet.
Morigon isn’t coping very well in kennels and really isn’t happy😭 She gets herself very worked up and stressed being around so many dogs, she has even nearly passed out a few times when on a lead from how stressed she has gotten herself!💔 (We now only walk Morigon on a harness which has prevented her passing out anymore) Morigon is strong on the lead but this is nothing that time, training and a regular routine won’t help with.

Our next newbie to introduce to you all is….. CUPCAKE🧁
Cupcake is an absolute sweetheart and has stolen the hearts of all our staff🥹 Cupcake has been brilliant with all people and other dogs she has met whilst she’s been with us.
Cupcake does have a head tilt (which makes her all the more adorable🥺) this has been checked by multiple vets and no issues can be found so we believe it has been caused by trauma😭 When she first arrived with us she did have milk coming from her teats suggesting she had not long since had puppies💔

Carey was brought to us just before Christmas and has settled in brilliantly. She wasn’t microchipped when she arrived and so her age is an approximation. She does need some basic training but she is young enough that she is a quick learner and being in a regular routine in a home will help her massively🙏

Hi everyone👋 I wanted to introduce myself I’m Morigon.
You’ve probably seen my photo on here a few times but no one has ever been interested in giving me a home so I thought I’d hop on and say hi myself🤷🏻♀️
I arrived at Woodhaven after a kind hooman picked me up when I was wandering along the side of the road, they took me to the vets but my last owner didn’t come back, I’m not sure why they didn’t come back for me I loved them lots. The vets then brought me to Woodhaven, it was scary at first, there was lots of new faces and smells it was like nothing I’d ever seen before, but the hoomans here all made me feel extra loved and they gave me a snazzy jumper to wear so I don’t get too cold❤️
I used to go by the name Marley but when I arrived here they started calling me Morigon, I don’t know why or what it means but I like it🥰
My birthday is 01/01/2013, I turn 11 in just 16days and I would really like to celebrate my birthday with a family to call my own🥺
I don’t like other dogs but I LOVE people and my toys, I promise I’m not a bad dog, the hoomans here always say I give the best cuddles.
Everyone says that my forever home is around the corner and that my people will find me soon but i really don’t like being in a kennel, the other dogs make me very stressed as I much prefer the quiet 😭 The hoomans here all make me feel so loved and I appreciate them alot but I would much rather have a sofa again and a place to call home.
I could ramble on for hours so I’ll wrap it up here but thank you for reading about me and I’ve been told that you have to fill a form in if you want me so I’ll put the link below, I hope someone fills it out for me the hoomans say I’ve not had a application yet😭

Mowgli enjoyed a lovely walk today with Tasmin and Paige. They said he did exceptionally well and was a pleasure to walk❤️
Mowgli has been with us for nearly a month now and hasn’t had any interest😭
He is good with other dogs but being so young he is full of energy so wouldn’t be suitable to live with an older dog🙈 Mowgli has been brilliant with all people he’s met and he had his first vaccination on Friday and was an angel with the vets (other than being extremely wriggly bless him😅)

Today we said welcome back to Stanley as he was sadly returned to us💔
Here is Stanley’s story❤️
Stanley arrived to us in august 2018, he was adopted however was returned 2 years later due to redirecting when seeing another dog, Stanley then got adopted again in 2020 however was returned in 2022 due to redirecting when he saw another dog. Stanley was then adopted for a THIRD time at the beginning of 2023 however his owners have had to make the heartbreaking decision to bring him back again today due to health reasons😭
Stanley turns 8 in a few weeks time and is looking for somewhere to live out his quiet years🤞 Stanley must wear a muzzle when in public to stop him redirecting when other dogs are nearby, he is muzzle trained and will happily wear it for his walks. Stanley walks brilliantly on a lead and doesn’t pull, he just potters along with you🥺
Stanley needs to be an only pet as he is dog aggressive and could live with older children aged 16+ due to him redirecting.
We know someone out there has a Stanley sized hole in their hearts and can give him his forever home🥺

‼️URGENT APPEAL FOR FLUFFY FRANK‼️
Fluffy Frank has been with us over a year now😭 He is becoming increasingly stressed in kennels and we are extremely concerned for his welfare as he isn’t coping with the number of other dogs around him. He is currently in the quietest part of our kennels with nearly an entire block to himself but is still extremely stressed out💔
Frank always gains lots of attentions on his posts however we rarely get an application for him😭
Frank ideally needs a home where he can be outside a lot as he loves to have a potter and sniff about, Frank does love his cuddles and LOVES to play with tennis balls🎾
Frank is dog reactive and so needs to be the only pet in the home, this includes cats and small furries too.
Frank can be nervous of new people until he knows you and so needs to be in an adult only home too.
We are aware that Frank needs a very specific home however there must be someone out there who has the perfect home for him to join🤞
Frank goes on regular walks with our volunteer dog walkers, he is muzzled for his walks and is getting used to wearing it now. We have never had any complaints from our walkers when they have taken Frank❤️
Please share Frank far and wide and let’s get him out of kennels and into a home where he belongs! (We can rehome nationwide providing potential adopters are willing to travel to us, our postcode is LS25 5BX)

We recently welcomed another young boy into the Woodhaven family, please say hello tooo…… MOWGLI🤎
Mowgli was found as a stray and sadly nobody came back for him. His microchip was unregistered meaning we don’t know where he lived, his name or even his exact age😭
Mowgli is only young and still has alot to learn about the world. He can get quite stressed when not around other dogs as he just wants to play! Therefore we are looking for a home where he has another young dog to play with and teach him the ways of the world🥰
Mowgli does need some training in his lead work and jumping up but he’s still just a baby so with time and training he will soon get the hang of it!

This stunning boy arrived to us after being found darting across a busy main road! He wasn’t microchipped when he arrived and nobody ever came back to claim him💔
Crash has a very special place in all our hearts here at Woodhaven as he recently suffered a bad case of pneumonia🥺 However like the true trooper that he is he has made a full recovery and is back to his happy self❤️
Crash has been good with other dogs he has met however he occasionally has reacted back at dogs when going past their kennels.

Handsome boy Harvey is celebrating today🍾 He’s been in his new home for 1 year!❤️ We couldn’t be happier for him to have found his perfect family to enjoy life with.
