Our Torbridge Vets in Bideford has recently had an upgrade, with the installation of a brand new dental suite.

A separate dental room has been constructed within the practice. And within it, brand new dental equipment has been fitted – including a state-of-the-art dental X-ray machine.

Practice Director Denise Duggan explains: “Previously our dental X-ray and table was located in the main prep room. This meant dentals had to wait until the end of the day to be completed and also everyone had to vacate the room if an X-ray was required. This would cause issues if other work was being completed at the time. We were also unable to complete multiple dentals in one day, due to other procedures being completed in the prep area.

“Our vets are delighted with the new room and equipment - especially our vet Stephen who completes most of our dentals. The separate room now means no interruptions and a quieter space for the team to work in. This means we can complete dentals more urgently and several in one day. Dentals - including x-rays - can also proceed without interruption, meaning our patients are under anaesthetic for a shorter time.

“In addition, all of our dental equipment is now in the same area, so everything to hand. And our vets are delighted with the brand new dental x-ray. It has a lot more capability than our very old machine.

“Our nurses also find the room much easier to navigate during surgery and much easier to clean!”
