About Us

We have always loved animals and have always been surrounded by different pets in our home. When we are not looking after your pets we are kept busy looking after my own, Alfie the adorable Labradoodle, Roxie an amazing Labradinger, the two cheeky Gerbils, Misty and Midnight and the two lovely

cats Gizmo and Oreo. When we visit your pet, they will get lots of love and attention and all dogs will be given walks that they will love and which will also help them socialise with others. You can rely on us whether you’re away at work for the day or away for a few days or weeks. Whatever the reason, we can help, call to book a place everyday, once a week or on a casual basis. This is a very interesting read and article - it’s really important to make sure your dog is in safe hands and with a licensed day care / boarder to ensure your insurance is valid in case of any incident πŸ’œ always check your day care / boarding facility has the license & insurance needed in place πŸ’œ

Pet Sitting takes place in YOUR house and your animals and a petsitter should be fully insured. There is no licence in Britain for Pet Sitting, at the moment, but there is a licence for Home Boarding. οΏΌ

Dog boarding is called either Home Boarding, Home-to-Home or Home-from-Home - in somebody else’s house - and should be LICENSED by the local council and fully insured. All dog day care activities need a licence too.

** A copy of the license must be clearly and prominently displayed on any premises used for the licensable activity in a public-facing area of the premises such as the entrance of a house or reception area. **

Offering Day Care and/or Dog Boarding requires a LICENSE from the local council. Without said license you are actually not 'fully insured' for those services and should anything happen to the pet/s whilst in your care, your insurance will ask you for your LICENSE NUMBER. Failure to provide one will result in your claim being dismissed. The pet guardian will also have their pet insurance invalidated, it is left void - that means they treat it as though no policy ever existed, leaving your pet without cover.

If you use an unregistered and unlicensed home boarder, dog day care, a platform or an app, your insurance is very unlikely to pay out in the event of something happening to your pet.

Companies like Rover, Cat in a Flap & Bark are β€˜only as a facilitator of the introductions referred to above’ - NO PET INSURANCE in the very teeny weeny print - and includes HouseCarers, TrustedHousesitters, Wag!, Pawshake et al.

In other words, Rover, Wag!, Pawshake, Cat in a Flap et al DO NOT HAVE PET INSURANCE for your pet or your house.

Please do your due diligence for your own, and your pets, sake.

The first place to check for registered home boarders and dog day care in your area would be your local councils website. If the list isn't on their website they will provide instructions of how to get the list. It simply is not worth taking the risk of using an unregistered home boarder.

And for anybody who is using Rover and all their friends from Cat in a Flap, Bark, Wag!, Pawshake, HouseCarers, TrustedHousesitters et al are β€˜only as a facilitator of the introductions referred to above’ …

If a person is providing daycare or home boarding, pet insurance (whether that's via Rover or a proper insurance company) will only be valid if they are following the law and are licensed as appropriate.

The first thing the pet insurance company will do if somebody makes a claim due to an incident that's happened at daycare or dog boarding will be to ask for the license and safety policies...

It doesn't matter whether somebody earns a "couple of hundred" or a β€œcouple of hundred thousand” it should be LICENSED if somebody is providing daycare or boarding services (in a home) for money.

If a person is unlicensed (and therefore automatically uninsured) and this person find yourself getting sued for poor practise (say, if two dogs fight and one requires extensive vet care) this person could find themselves banned from owning or working with animals for anything up to a decade for not being licensed and for operating an illegal daycare.

Rover et al requires a person to be licensed, in accordance with the local area, in order for THEIR terms of service to apply.

Even though Rover et al go on to said "occasional boarders don't require a license" - if a person tries and claim through Rover et al and/or a pet insurance company and realise it is unlicensed, the insurance company is highly likely to reject a claim and refuse to cover as this person is not abiding by the law.

Rover is just a platform for dog sitters, dog boarding and dog walkers to advertise, it is not a professional company that goes through all the relevant checks before allowing people to advertise their services.
