Meet Nala and Benji πΎ
Beth and Josh contacted us for help, as life was a little difficult with the issues both dogs were displaying . Their issues included:
- Nala resource guarding
- Leash pulling
- Both dogs fighting in the home
- Reactivity towards other dogs
- Reactive to noises from outside (including the doorbell)
- Benji lack of recall due to prey drive
We are proud to say that with our help, and Beth and Josh's hard work...these issues have been resolved!
Both dogs were very responsive to training, which meant that in the grand scheme of things they actually had a fast turn around!
Below is a video of the reactive behaviour we helped them with πΎ

We are saddened to hear the news of the sudden passing of Dumbo, one of our family dogs π
Mandy rescued Dumbo nearly a decade ago, and although he lived a happy life, we all wish he had more time with us πΎ
We looked after Dumbo for 2 weeks while Mandy went on holiday. Within that time we took him camping with Rosie.
Here's a little video of them playing π
Aggression is not a behaviour you should tackle alone. If your dog displays aggression you should get professional help, because if you get it wrong...bites can have consequences πΎ

Here we have Skye, who as you can see was quite reactive at the sound of someone entering the front garden. That window blind in the first video had been replaced a few times π
Skye was also reactive towards people knocking at the door or entering the home. Part of the problem was that she would become overwhelmed, over excited, and over stimulated. As a result she would jump on people and bark repeatedly as they entered the home.
In our sessions, we used a leash to direct Skye and teach her good manners. As time goes by we can remove the leash, but it is a great way to communicate with our dogs in the early stages of training.
We also desensitised Skye to knocking sounds so that she would not feel the need to bark at the door constantly.
Well done to Skye's family for putting in the hard work! Our dog's can be difficult at times, but through consistency and the right training, we will help our dog's out of behaviours that may be unsettling or undesirable.

Remember, Remember, the 5th of November ππ
The weeks before and after Bomfire night are the busiest time of the year for lost dogs. This is because many dogs will go into ' flight' mode when they hear an unexpected bang.
Here are some simple tips to keep your dog safe!

Carol contacted us as Maggie was extremely reactive when she saw other dogs...even if they were quite some distance away!
Maggie was also reactive to people and children. This made walks difficult and something neither Carol or Steve looked forward to.
It's important to note here that reactivity in small dogs is just as important to fix as it is in large dogs. πΎ
A small dog may not be strong enough to pull you over...but they are feeling stressed / anxious/ overwhelmed all the same .
We worked on some basic manners, leash work and thresholds to ensure Maggie felt better about seeing people, children and other dogs while on a walk.
Massive well done to Carol and Steve for putting in the hard work! Maggie came along brilliantly with the issues we faced in our sessions. πΆ

If you have a couple of dogs and things are starting to get heated...you must get help as soon as possible!
Things can escalate very quickly, and the worse it gets...the harder it is to resolve.
Sandra got in touch as her two dogs had become aggressive towards each other.
The aggression started with Rory and as time went on, Bruno started to become aggressive too.
I had a number of sessions with Sandra and explained what training and life adjustments would be needed to eventually be able to allow both dogs to have free rein of the house without attacking eachother.
Unfortunately it was proving very difficult for Sandra to dedicate enough time for what was needed and she made the decision to rehome Bruno.
A rehome is always a last resort, we always try training first. In this case though, it was the best option for Sandra, and that's OK.
Sandra is now focusing on Rory, and his behaviour has improved massively! We will show updates over the next couple of weeksπΎ
Well done Sandra for the progress you have made with Rory!
Please get in touch as soon as any aggression starts. The quicker we tackle the issue, the better the result and the easier it is.
