BOAS- Brachycephalic Obstructive Airway Syndrome
‘Brachycephalic obstructive airway syndrome’ is more common in dogs with shorter noses such as bulldogs, pugs and frenchies. It causes difficulty with breathing, exercise tolerance, snoring, excessive phlegm, regurgitating food, overheating and collapse episodes.
A BOAS assessment can performed by a veterinary surgeon during a regular consultation including examination, listening to the natural breathing noises and an exercise test if appropriate. If recommended, the BOAS surgery can be carried out at our practice.
VIDEO: Our lovely patient Sid is a 3 year old bulldog that has gradually worsened with his breathing, exercise and regurgitation.
Here he is before and after surgery-I’m sure you can agree there is a massive difference!!
If you would like a free BOAS assessment done on your dog, please call the surgery on 01914562211 or book an appointment on our app!
**Free BOAS Assessments until the end of September 2024**

Day in The Life: Dog Vaccination 🐶
The Importance of Dog Vaccinations 💉 🐾
Vaccination is a great way to keep your dog safe and give them immunity from some infectious diseases that can make them very poorly, even some that are fatal.
Puppies have their ‘primary’ vaccination course between 6-8 weeks old and a 2nd vaccine at 10-12 weeks old.
Dogs have a “Booster” vaccination once per year which is when the vet can give your dog a thorough health check. This will help the vet check that your pet is as healthy as possible and they can pick up on health problems sooner.
Regular vaccination keeps the dogs immunity topped up.
You can vaccinate your dog against:
• Distemper
• Infectious Canine Hepatitis
• Canine Parvovirus
• Leptospirosis
• Kennel Cough
•Rabies (if you are travelling abroad with them)
Please call if you would like to have your dog booked in for their vaccination 0191 456 2211 📞
