And just like that my holiday days are over and it’s back to being with your dogs tomorrow

Special mention to our very own Dan Dan rhe Treat Man who escorted me Thursday to Crufts and carried my shopping

Drove me to Peak Wildlife Park on Friday to feed Wallaby’s and see Polar Bears

Then joined me at Crufts today for Best in Show and bless him gave up watching the Rugby (well kind of 🤣)

💚💜💖 Crufts Top Tips 💖💜💚

If your off to Crufts at all over the next two days here’s my top tips what with this year being my 4th year attending as a visitor

1) Wear comfy shoes! This is no 1 for a reason. You will do sooooo much walking and standing.

2) Wear breathable clothing. Some days especially the weekends become very busy. The last thing you want is to be uncomfortable in a heavy coat. There are cloakrooms provided you can pay for but avoid the faff. This year I opted for shorts, T-shirt and a hoody that at 1 point I even took off.

3) Carry your own water bottle. There are free water refill stations dotted around the NEC building. This will save you money also and keep you from dehydrating. I became faint at one point this year and was so thankful Dan had his water bottle.

4) Get into the main arena 1 event before the event you want to watch. This way you’re not risking there not being a seat as they fill fast. Flyball is VERY popular so do not think you’ll get in 10 minutes before it starts because you won’t.

5) Pick a stall in each hall to look out for that’s situated on the middle aisle to give you focus points so you know you haven’t missed a hall completely (this is easily done)

Hall 1 - Ruff and Tumble
Hall 2 - Barka Parka Uk
Hall 3 - Bugalugs
Hall 4 - K9 jets
Hall 5 - Kong

6) Take your bags of shopping back to the car before going into the main arena. They do not allow anything bigger than a bag into the main arena so any beds, bulky items have to be left in caged areas that aren’t ticketed or manned by staff so left at your own risk. Avoid anything getting stolen and just pop it back to the car. If you’ve travelled by train, get your bulky items shipped home instead to avoid having to do this. You can leave bags with the cloakroom but again easier to avoid the faff

7) do not think you’ll see everything in one day. Trust me, you won’t! Have a plan, the time schedules are on their website and have a plan on your phone of what you’d like to do and allow extra time for being slowed down by crowds of people

8 ) take cash as well as card. Many vendors accept cash and are grateful of it too. The signal can also be hit and miss so avoid disappointment of not being able to buy what you wanted and carry both.

9) Go to discover dogs area early to avoid the crowds. Remember ALWAYS ask before stroking or interacting with a dog. Even though these dogs are specifically here to showcase their breed, they still aren’t a toy. And some on these stands don’t want interactions but are happy to lie and be seen so just remember this

10) NEVER touch the exhibitors dogs or lift up covers on their crates. These dogs are already in what can be a highly stressful environment and deserve to be treated with respect. ALWAYS ask permission if you can say hi, if told no please be respectful and not rude.

11) Go see the police dogs and tell them they’re all good boys and girls 🥹❣️

12) DO NOT interact with any dog that isn’t yours. Yes it’s a dog show, but they are not toys and deserve respect and not to be poked and prodded. ALWAYS ask permission before any kind of interaction.

13) Have fun! Look for the good side of the show. I found all the positive rewarded, happy dogs around the show to top up my energy meter. There was a dog being entertained by playing connect 4 😍 and a staffy in the ring who was sooo happy and joyous. Her handler was on the floor giving fuss doing fun training with food rewards whilst she wasn’t being assessed by the judge. This was so beautiful to see 🥹

And if you head into hall 2 stall 17 and look up at their banner, you’ll see a familiar face 💖🥹.

🧡💜💖🎉 Crufts 2025 haul 🎉💖💜🧡

We grabbed a new drying robe for after our muddy wet adventures from Ruff and Tumble. I’ve always stuck to this brand as they wash well, keep their colour and their shape

A new body warmer in business colour purple was unavoidable, I’ve wanted one in this colour for so long

JR had some items I can’t get on my trade account or are sold out so we grabbed an ostrich croissant, a sausage and buffalo skin

Kong toys in hall 5 are a must! We got a racoon as Mags is known as our little Raccoon. And a cow because why not 🤷‍♀️ she can have these after her Phantom has passed

Dorwest in hall 4 had just what I need to help Mags when her next season come around to prevent a phantom emerging, so we grabbed some Evening primrose oil and Rasberry Leaf

Our final purchases were a new tug toy from Touchango for use at agility and a beautifully colourful snuffle ball from Snuffles shop.. handmade and perfect enrichment activity, on first use with just her sausage took 10 minutes!

Absolutely amazing first day off at Crufts

Today was all about shopping and discover dogs area with the show ring dogs thrown in for good measure

I will pop a picture of what I chose to buy later and my top tips for any of you going across the next 3 days

Back Sunday and that’s all about the main arena, obedience arena and ofcourse the GSDS

Home at 4.30 and rewarded Mags with a visit to Ettington Dog Walking Meadow - Really Wild Walks agility barn for being such a good girl whilst we were out

🎉 💜 We have working doors again!

Parts are on order to fully repair but we’ve sorted them to allow me to safely work and operate in-between

Miss Mags also had to go see the doggy mechanic that is the vets, she’s have a mild phantom pregnancy

We are to keep her as active as normal, add more fun games, long lasting chews etc to occupy her mind away from wanting to ‘nest’ as hopefully she will come out the other side not needing meds which the vet wants to avoid for now due to how mild her symptoms are

💜 if your looking for puppy training then you won’t go wrong with these classes 💜

We have many dogs who’ve been to these classes that walk with us and it really was a wonderful first step for them and their families 💖

🚁 👮🏻‍♀️ There was sadly a lot of activity on our walk this morning..

…including a low flying and landing air ambulance, so we stayed onlead exploring inacse anyone got spooked by the noises we are used to 💜

💜🥰 Mondays have seen me combine my lunchtime and afternoon walk so that Norman gets the opportunity to play with dogs his own size and breed

Double is an honary shepherd now 🤣

It’s so lovely seeing Norman have a positive outlet for his breed specific playstyle 🥰💜

P.S Dougal really enjoyed the freedom of a dropped line too.. his face doesn’t hide it 🤣
