This recent scam has come to my attention via two different sources in the last week.
DON'T CLICK ON ANY LINKS - YOU MUST CHECK YOUR ORIGINAL MICROCHIP DOCUMENTS.
PLEASE PASS THIS INFORMATION ON.
THE FOLLOWING CAME TO ME FROM A FRIEND.
The company is called PetChip.
My boss said she nearly got caught, the message is saying the registration is out of date and to update. They sent her all her information details, microchip number etc. they have somehow got the Information. So don’t click on any links. Something about paying £18 otherwise they will change the registered owners address.
Make sure you have his microchip number somewhere safe.
Double check with vets if any messages, my boss got told to contact trading standards. Think it’s stems from some breeders using third parties to store microchip information.
Don’t hand over any information before checking with the vets etc.
AS FAR AS I AM AWARE MICROCHIP REGISTRATION DOES NOT GO OUT OF DATE
You just have to let your original company know if you change address.
