I have such wonderful news! My sweet girl Little Love had a successful bae-cation with the handsome Beau a couple of nights ago. The pitter patter of tiny little love hearts coming soon? I do hope! It’s with great sadness that I must announce the passing of my beloved Siegfried The Great. (Meaning victory and peace)

As many of you won’t know his story, I’ll tell it, but be aware it’s quite sad.

Sigs came to me a year ago already mature. He was part of a group of spiders who were rescued from a university where students were running science experiments on them involving delivering electric shocks to them.

I never got any pictures of him besides these first ones I took when he arrived, as understandably, he liked to be left to his own devises and wasn’t a fan of venturing outside of his enclosure. Trust me, I even accidentally left his door open a few times and he stayed put. 😅

He lived a beautiful year with me, in his 20x30 enclosure, full of plants to hide in and his springtail pals. Of course as well, he had all the flies his little heart desired. He passed peacefully in his favourite web hammock this afternoon.

Having kept inverts for as long as I have, it’s rare that a death effects me quite as much as his, but I feel very lucky to have kept him for so long, and to have given him the life he should have had right from the beginning.

Rest in peace my little Sig, it’s been my absolute pleasure. 🖤

I haven’t met a boy as pretty as him since I was growing up Athena’s first sac, so I’m stoked to have him on my team.

Isla Juventud was the first locale I bred, and my favourite, so they’ll always have a special place in my heart. Cubans and oranges will always come out on top for me.

It’s all a bit gecko city here at TFS at the moment, so this week I ordered some feeding ledges that were 3D printed by the lovely SilverWebbers . I asked her to suprise me with the colours as I couldn’t decide, and my gosh did she deliver! 100/10, and they got here super quickly too. She also 3D prints customs and things for jumping spiders, 👀 so pop over and check her out!
