🥹 JENNY’S LEAVING 🥹

A sad day for us today in clinic as we bid farewell to our wonderful head nurse Jenny. She’s been at the practice for around 4 years now and she’s off to spread her wings up north!

Jenny is not only a brilliant nurse but a fantastic illustrator and you can find a few of her commission pieces around the practice, don’t worry you can still get your hands on her work, so make sure you follow her social media! Jens Illustrations jens_illustrations

We have been lucky enough to have not one but two of our beautiful girls get wed recently and wanted to share the news with you all!

We have had a large, entire white and tabby cat handed in to us that was hit by a car on lodge road near the avenue and unfortunately had passed away from his injuries. Not microchipped. Please contact us if you think he may be yours.

🎇 TAKE THE FEAR OUT OF FIREWORKS 🎇

For a lot of pets and their owners bonfire night can be a really stressful time so we’ve got lovely Winnie demonstrating some ideas and products we have to offer to help your furry friends this firework season!

🧨 Provide a ‘den’ or safe space - having a space they can call their own with all their home comforts
🧨 Keep cats inside and walk dog’s earlier - ENSURE your pets microchip details are up to date if they do manage to escape and find themselves lost
🧨 Distraction toys - having a new toy that they’ve not seen before can be a great thing to cause a distraction from the scary noises, Winnie loves her likimat!
🧨 Background noise - tv’s and radios on in the background to muffle out the noise
🧨 Calming medication and pheromones - having a diffuser in the hub of the home will help to relieve anxiety and Nutracalm is available over the counter to aid in the relief of stress and anxiety. It’s an easy to use sprinkle capsule!
🧨 Act normal - I know it’s hard to not get upset yourself as an owner but drawing attention to the noises will only make things more scary for your pet, so go about your night as normal and that will help reassure your pet there is nothing to worry about

🫶🏼 BELLA’S JOURNEY 🫶🏼

The beautiful Bella has been in with us recently following a nasty bout of pancreatitis. Bella made a friend in our nurse Olivia whilst she camped outside of her kennel giving her multiple medications throughout the day everyday for the whole week. Giving her a brush to make her feel more fresh and of course lots of cuddles. As you can see she was very snuggled up in her comfy bed!

Great news is that Bella is doing brilliantly now and is back home with her very happy and relieved pawrents, who were kind enough to send us a photo of her lapping up some of the last few sun rays in the garden ☀️

We love you Bella and wish you all the best on your recovery 🩷

We LOVE to use lickiliks here at the practice and Mr Monty was more than happy to show you just how they work. We use them for a range of different things from blood tests to nail clips, they are the perfect delicious distraction!

✨ WAY TO GO HARRY ✨ Just wanting to give the lovely Harry a shout out for his amazing 3kg weight loss. Harry started his weight loss journey with our nurse Olivia back in April. He has attended our weight loss clinics monthly until he has achieved his goal weight based on his body condition score and his exercise levels. Harry started at 17.5kg and is now an amazing 14.5kg! He’s now onto the maintenance plan to help stabilise his weight and will come in for weigh ins every 8 weeks. 46% of the UK’s pets are considered overweight or obese so if you don’t want your pet to be part of this statistic then get booked into our weight clinics now. We are SO proud of you Harry! ✨🩷🐶

‼️ CAT MICROCHIPPING - TRIGGER WARNING NEEDLES ‼️ Here we have the VERY brave boy that is Scooby who came in for his microchip. His owners did this to comply with the upcoming law that is being put in place. We just wanted to show you how quick this is to do so if you’ve been worrying it’ll take too long this should hopefully show you it wont, blink and you might miss it! If your cat isn’t already microchipped please feel free to call up and book in for this to be done by one of our nurses, its really important to us that we can reunite you with your furry friends if they get lost or brought in injured. 🧤SURGICAL SCRUB NURSING 🧤 Sometimes the vets need an extra pair of hands to hold instruments or organs out of the way during a surgical operation and that’s when one of the nurses are called upon. Here you’ll see our amazing SVN Becky helping Vet Nicola in a recent abdominal surgery. Go Becky!! As nurses we love to get in on the action so relish the opportunity to scrub in on operations.
