This little man is going home tomorrow, what a joy he's been 💜 He is incredibly trusting and happy, I have loved having him. He has had his own room which was monitored multiple times a day for temperature (I have a Tado system for the gas central heating). Temperature is vital for hamster health, therefore he had his own radiator thermostat set at 20-21C. He was served a full platter of various food every evening, such as cheese, peanut butter (xylitol free), spinach, cucumber, apple, banana, beetroot, roast chicken, boiled egg, carrot, broccoli, celery, the odd sneaky biscuit and custard (just a pea size treat). It's very clear he loves chicken, beetroot, custard and peanut butter but is not a fan of celery 🤦🏻‍♀️

I have had hamsters and rats throughout most of my life and I still love them 💜 I'm sad to be saying bye to this fella tomorrow!

I recently received a very special gift from a very special kitty after his surgery for looking after him during his recovery 💜 I am not too good with plants but I'm now educating myself so I can hopefully keep this plant alive and well for years to come!

There is a first for everything - first time I've had the privilege of meeting and caring for a hairless kitty 😊 He is absolutely gorgeous! Full of character and personality!

I have been inundated with requests for last minute pet sitting, however I am fully booked for my available dates. I am also not taking bookings on various dates throughout the summer months due to other commitments. Please plan ahead for care for your pet family before booking holidays 😊

🐾 An Update from HaddiPET's Homecare 🐾

The last few weeks have been a whirlwind of excitement and hard work as I have been setting everything up for HaddiPET's Homecare, and I can now finally unveil my catchment area!

Take a peek at the map - if you are located just outside the catchment area, fret not! I'm more than willing to travel that extra mile for your furry family members. Please note, an additional cost of 50p per mile will be applied for this extended service.

HaddiPET's Snippets

Today's snippet is all about my cat Harley. Harley is 9 years old and like Shansi and Hattie, rescued from terrible conditions in South Africa. His mother was poisoned when her kittens were 7 days old, and unfortunately she did not make it. The rescue organisation I worked with raised the kittens to 7 weeks of age, and that is when Harley came home. All three of them - Shansi, Hattie, and Harley, all came from the same area, all rescued by the same organisation. He has kidney disease, currently in Stage 4, so we don't know how long he has left but we are doing everything possible to ensure he remains comfortable and content. He was initially diagnosed when he was 4 years old and the vets believe it may have been caused by feeding from his dead poisoned mother before the litter was found and removed. He is a nervous cat, and flying him to the UK was nerve wracking but he came through it just fine and was back to his usual self 12 hours after landing at Heathrow. He remains on a strict kidney diet and receives daily medication for blood pressure, plus a potassium supplement. His best friend is Sierra, my German Shepherd, who will be the focus of the next HaddiPET's Snippet 🙂
