A few months ago, Willow started getting super itchy, being bile sick at least once a day, getting bad teeth/breath and getting super fat… I opted to get her 💩 tested by Biome - it took 2 weeks for the results, but I was honestly shocked by them! She’s been raw fed for most her life, I give her 5 staple proteins and fruit/veg, it’s a complete meal from a reputable company… and the results really weren’t that great… (attached)

They sent me recommendations of things to add, and I can get their probiotics too, but in the last month, since making all the changes they told (not got the probiotics yet) she’s only been sick once, she’s not itchy and she’s lost 1.5kg!

Just a heads up:

Next week is set to be super hot 🥵

We will be keeping an eye on the temperatures, so far Tuesday and Wednesday seem to be the worst -

We may need to move appointments around to earlier in the day or a different day of the week & we may leave dogs a bit damp so they don’t get too hot 🐾

Just a heads up!
We are changing things up slightly!

We will now be working til 3.30pm on a Tuesday and 5pm on a Wednesday. From 1st June, we will be having Thursdays off (otherwise we don’t get a day off)

If your dog is normally done on a Thursday, we are also open weekends, so I’m sure we will be able to accommodate a different day for you ☺️

We have been pretty busy and booking up, so as always, if you want to pre book ahead, it’s advisable to get the slot you want ☺️🐾

Thank you to everyone who had to miss out on appointments today… I had to put my handsome old baby boy to sleep this morning 🌈

Some of you guys had met him, he was usually asleep on the chair, bugging you for treats or being the ultimate puppy magnet and comforter ☺️ his laid back, chilled vibes were always great for nervous dogs 🐾

He was my first dog, my soul dog and my best buddy - he was a challenge medically, and I feel so, so grateful that I got to spend near enough every minute with him for the last 10 years ❤️ it’s been an incredibly tough day, and so weird to not have him staring at me or barking at me, for his dinner about now 😅

Although he’s been ill for years, he got super poorly, super quickly (within 12 hours) so it’s still been a bit of shock, and it wasn’t his epilepsy! 🐾

I will get back to you all very soon xx

A client of mine is in need of a new home through no fault of his own, due to a change in circumstances for his owners 🐾

I, unfortunately, cannot take him on, as much as I would love to!

He’s a 10 year old beagle (more working lines), neutered and upto date with all his vaccines, flea/worming. He loves people and dogs, fine with cats and children. 🐶

I know I don’t post much, but when these guys came, in I honestly thought they were bichon crosses 😂 there wasn’t an inch of white left on them 😂 I scrubbed them with Peanut & Pickle brightening facial and shampoo and was so shocked to see they were actually white under all that hair 😂 (they do live on a farm!)

Me and mum have been debating this for a while, but we have ultimately decided that there will be a price increase from 1st February 2024.

For regular customers of 2/4/6 weekly appointments prices will stay the same. Nail trims will stay at £5. First teeth cleaning session of £30 and repeat of £15 will also stay the same.

All others prices will increase by £5, unless we have said otherwise. Unfortunately our rent, electric and equipment/maintenance prices have all gone up and we are struggling to front the costs. We were hoping this cost of living crisis was going to level out by now so we would not have to.

Today, we said goodbye to the most stubborn, demanding, food obsessed, cheeky, characterful, caring, loving girl of all, 12 days off her 15th birthday 🎂

Given to us to heal our broken hearts after losing her pup at 9months old to kidney failure, we had 11 years of love & snuggles…

She defied death numerous times and even had a major op at 10 years old! We were so lucky to have her in our lives as long as we did ❤️

We will miss you Libs, Libby-Lou, Liberty Bell, or affectionately also known as bloody beagle 😇

I will get back to everyone, I just need a bit of me time and cuddles with the dogs 🐾

Highly recommend booking appointments in advance - I’ve been immensely fortunate to find myself getting booked up pretty quickly, the weather definitely helps! 😂

However, I feel a lot of guilt for not getting customers in sooner, due to the heat too!

We have also taken on new clients from another lovely groomer in the area, who sadly had to retire.

I have employed someone else to help out & if this continues, strongly thinking about hiring another as I keep on finding myself with no days off 😂

So to help me out, if you have some dates in mind, or know that they will be due very soon, please use the booking in system to book in (or if you require weekends, send me a message!)

I’ll pop my availability up later on, when I get a chance, but it’s pretty limited until July now! 🐾

Bailey was sick a lot today before we left the salon, I think because he was too hot - and he just lays about, so I feel justified 😂 (he’s geriatric & got a thick coat, so high risk!)

Just a quick notice:

☀️With temperatures set to stay high all week, please be careful bringing your dog to the salon - I wouldn’t advise doing so, if you don’t have a/c and please don’t leave them in the car!☀️

I may leave dogs slightly damp still so they don’t get too hot with the dryers on - the salon does stay mostly cool, but obviously it’s also quite humid at the moment too!

I will keep on eye on things, and may have to move appointments around (especially as Bailey tends to seizure more when he gets hot!)

I don’t want to have to reschedule appointments as it’s quite busy, but may move appointments to earlier in the day if needed 😊

So… this is why I cannot work the next few weekends…

In June 2021, after exhibiting at our local dog show for the grooming salon, me and my boyfriend decided it would be a great idea to set up another business to do in our ‘free time’ (although, let’s face it, I normally work 7 days a week 😂) called Sustainapaws - we sell a huge range of eco-friendly dog products, as well as stocking more of our own brand stuff now! 😁 Our best sellers are our 100% recycled plastic, double layered dog toys 🐾 and of course, the lovely organic cotton bandanas that mum makes for me 🤣

So why am I mentioning it here?

This weekend we will be at our local dog show again… Dogstival at Broadlands estate, Romsey, it’s the most amazing day out whether your super dog loving (like me) or not 😂

So if your going, come and say hi! (Although I will be grooming a couple of dogs Sunday morning 😂)

The next lot of shows are in September, we are trying to get some cover - so either someone will be at the shows with Mike or at the salon for me 😂 🐾

Had a couple of No-shows lately, which is kind of annoying… I don’t want to have to start charging deposits (mainly cos I don’t need more admin!)

But I am super booked up at the moment, & get calls daily for appointments - if you can’t make it (& I get that life can get in the way!) then please just send me a message - I won’t charge a fee, unless it happens all the time!

But it means that I can go get some lunch, or dog food, or baileys meds, without wondering if someone is gunna turn up while I’m out & they were just running behind 😂

On a side note, I’ve only got these appointments left til 12/6…

I will be opening up SOME online appointments this evening for the weekends, and every other Monday (when I don’t have hydro), and I will open it up until 4pm.

Don’t forget we won’t be open on 27th, 28th may, 3rd, 9th-11th June (except for kennel dogs!)

Just a heads up - I will be away a couple of weekends (26-28th May, 3rd June, 9-11th June) I have tried to sort some cover for kennel dogs - but won’t be able to accommodate many other grooms.

If you need your dog booked in, please try and book in advance, I don’t mind doing a couple of evenings if you need the weekend.

Weekend appointments are blocked off on the booking in system as they book up super quick, so please message me!

Already booking up quite quickly this month!!

I will also be away 9-29th November for my 30th birthday, so please also try to plan ahead for then too 😁
