🩵🐾Meet & Greets/Trial🐾🩵
During a meet and greet, I come out to meet you and your pooch. I learn more about your dog, their behaviour and energy levels. We discuss what you are looking for from walks and I can advise accordingly if I can fulfil your dog’s needs.

If we agree to a trial walk I will take your dog out and assess certain behaviours and criteria. This ranges from confidence, resource guarding and what really motivates your pup. After a meet and trial walk I then decide if it is suitable to integrate your pooch into a group.

I do not take mixing dogs lightly. Despite now having 24 dogs!🥰 I still feel anxious during their first walk - I am only human! Sometimes, I do not get the mixes right. Take Jessy here, her first group walk did not go as smoothly as I had anticipated. Did the dogs get along? Yes. Did they enjoy their walk? Yes. But did they match each other’s energy? No.

So what happens next?
In Jessy’s case I popped her onto another walk which she integrated well into. If she had not coped well, would I have continued to walk her? No. Your dog’s wellbeing, enjoyment and success is at the heart of everything I do and believe. If I and my dogs are not the right match for your pooch I will recommend another walker🐾

I am trailing a new pooch on our second morning group. This may affect the pick up times for those on our later walks from 10:30 onwards. But I promise to be with you as soon as I can🥰🐾

‼️Adder Awareness‼️

Following on from our First Aid Training I wanted to highlight that the warmer weather means Adders will be coming out of hibernation. Adders are the only venomous snake within the UK and can be found in many of our woodlands. Bites are not common but here are some tips to prepare you for the worst case scenario.

1. Don’t panic, your dog will feed off your emotions and this was only cause further distress for all of you.
2. If you can, bring the car to your pet. Otherwise carry them to your vehicle, this will reduce the spread of venom around the body.
3. Keep your dog as comfortable and calm as possible.
4. Call your vet in advance so they can prepare for your arrival.

Most dogs will recover from an Adder bite with the appropriate care and treatment. Please be vigilant and mindful when walking in woodlands and stick to footpaths if possible. We will be carrying an Adder Bite Kit with us on walks🐾
