Handler engagement is key to owning a Boerboel. As you can see in this video I have no treats, no toy and nothing for him to work for other than my praise, Roman is extremely eager to please and wants to work and behave. This is partly due to genetics but a large chunk due to the way he has been raised, socialised and trained. I have always prioritised handler engagement and bond when working with Roman. Anyone who owns a male Boerboel knows that without a strong bond you will absolutely be in over your head, regardless of how large you are, an 80-90kg powerhouse of a dog will absolutely be able to pull you over if they aren’t correctly trained. That’s why as a smaller handler I am in absolute control at all times, despite weighing less than him! The fact he is so engaged with me means he can be off lead, heel, follow my exact commands and not be distracted by other dogs / people even as a guardian dog predisposed to dog reactivity. Big girl “PANDORA”

Massive happy 4th birthday to the foundation of Imperial Boerboels Remi ❤️

We have so much love for this lady, she truly carries the best traits of any Boerboel and we are so lucky to have her blood in our programme. The way she is with children, her general temperament and loyalty. Best friend in a dog. Impeccable training and so well behaved anywhere we go. So versatile for a Boerboel, loves to run and hike with us, enjoys obedience and is just so eager to please.

Our current litter is Remi’s second and last litter, and she will live out the rest of her life as a loved sofa dog with us. We will be continuing her line with her sons and daughters, expecting the girls we have kept behind will carry her fantastic mothering, temperament, health and beautiful look.

Imperial Cassiopeia, this not so little lady is the largest in the entire litter 😳 she has a very large head and lovely muscling already. Whoever owns this lady will be very lucky.

Our stud male Roman

This male has everything you could ever ask for in a Boerboel, “wow” look, incredible temperament and outstanding health. To be so successful in all three makes him the perfect foundation dog, and we are very grateful for how he continues to better the breed and the incredible puppies he has produced for us.

With 3-3 (A-A) hips, 0-0 elbows a fully clear DNA panel and strong, healthy heart, his health is hard to beat!

Not only is he the highest appraised Blue boerboel in the UK, but also the only blue Boerboel to win a UK show (Non standard SABBS class) and was awarded his appraisal and champion win at only 16 months old…
