So here’s what I’ve done on that Juwel Rio 180.
*THIS IS ONE WAY OF DOING THIS. OTHER PEOPLE MAY USE DIFFERENT METHODS. I TAKE NO RESPONSIBILITY FOR ANYONE DOING THIS AND IT NOT WORKING* And just because I saw this corner leaking, doesn’t mean any others aren’t. We’ll see when it comes to testing in a few days.
Step 1, Drain the water out and dry the corner concerned.
Step 2, Using a nice sharp knife carefully cut out the whole up and down length of silicone. (At this point some people would say do the whole tank, but nothing else looked to be leaking so I’m doing what I can see)
Step 3, Clean off any excess silicone off the 2 faces near the corner and in the corner between the glass.
Step 4, Use some methylated spirit or similar to clean off the silicone residue.
Step 5, Grab the silicone of your choice (and your lunch because it’s hungry work ) and make sure you have something to wipe silicone off your hand or glass or anything else you get it on.
Step 6, Lay a nice bead of silicone down and smooth it down whilst squeezing it into the gap in the corner. Wipe off any excess and Repeat this step and smooth down for the finished corner.
And the last pic, leave to dry. Some people put tape down the sides and pull off for a clean edge, but I’ve never had much luck with that. I’ll cut away anything I don’t want another day. I find it’s less messy once dried.
