Not long after cleaning the planted display at the front, one of the Hillstream loach was out and about. Although they’re the biggest I’ve ever seen, you don’t see either of them that often.

We often get asked ‘how do you keep your tanks so clean?’
Simple answer, lots of maintenance.
This front display just had a dealgae, gravel clean, filter clean (in the old aquarium water) and a bit of a trim.
Probably took all of half hour. L
Small jobs, more frequently keeps the tank fresh and more importantly, keeps the fish happy.

Took a punt ordering these in.
When a list just says ‘large’ you never know what you’ll get exactly. And when ordering Peacock cichlids you know they don’t always come in showing good colour.
Well, I was lucky on both this time. 🤩🤩 🔥 🔥

Juwel Rio 125 with T5 lights. Just trying to get a decent filter for it, as the one it came with wasn’t the best option for it.
Might need a bit more cleaning but has come up quite well already.

Another Monday. Another start to the week.
This tank still on test, although I’m quite happy it’s fine, it’ll be on test for another day or two.
Gotta get the filter checked and find some pins for the shelves, but looking good.

We also have a lovely dark wood Rio 125 on test too now, just a formality as it hadn’t long been emptied. Keep your eyes peeled for that one. 👀

Check out these cute little Fahaka’s.
Fahaka puffer fish. Capable of about 18 inches, so not for everyone. Can SOMETIMES be mixed with other fish but they are predatory/meat eating and there’s no telling them what they can and can’t eat.
They’re having a bit of live Mysis shrimp here, abd you can see them stalking tge little buggers.
