Morning everyone, as many of you are aware, most dog groomers do not book on a yearly basis, but due to having such loyal and regular customers, doing it this way has proved to be more beneficial for everyone to work in this manner.

As many of you know, over the last few weeks or so, I have been trying to sort out next years calendar, its not been one of the easiest things to do as you can imagine, as not everyone is in a position to be flexible due to work, school runs etc etc and can only make certain days and times….anyways In a nutshell I have tried to accommodate all of my customers as best as I can, however, is does not mean that this comes without the odd hitch.

Due to being full, many customer appts may well coincide with other customer appointments and I have had no alternative but to move that appointment to the next available date which in some cases could work out between either 1 day, or unfortunately 2/3 weeks time… in other words your interval days may be longer than you would like.

Obviously I will be continuing with a cancellation list, and on request will be able to add those who have a little wait inbetween grooms, just incase an appt becomes free.

If for whatever reason, you have had to cancel your appt and are added to the cancellation list, and due to being fully booked, it is not guaranteed that an appt will become available before your next appt, so unfortunately it will be a matter of waiting until your next booking.

I will contact the next person on the canelllation list if an appt becomes available, even if it is short notice, and if there is no response from that person within a suitable time, I will offer it to the next customer.

Please please do not inundate me with texts/messages/home visits… yes home visits! for a cancellation as the answer will be the same….

I will try to keep the list down as best as I can, which means that if I am ahead of schedule or working a tad later I will make contact with the next person, meaning it will be short notice.

This year I will be writing your future appointments on a card, and handing them to you on your next appointment, so please keep it in a safe place as when I finish work, and due to my own personal commitments I will not be in a position to continually send texts of appt dates due to the loss/deletion of the previous dates that were given.

Now to the big “C” word…Christmas….

My last working day is Saturday 14th December, and my return to work date is Friday 3rd January 2025, from then on all Saturday appointments will start at 09:00 not 09:30… the rest of the week will be 09:30.

Due to personal reasons, many, if not, all of you are aware It is necessary for me to have 2 days off per week, one definitely being a Monday for the foreseeable future, the other is for a separate appt that does not always fall on the same day, so like last year if my appt does fall on your furbaby’s groom day I will be able to swap it with my day off that same week…if that makes sense!

So, I think that is it for the moment, except I would like to thank you all again for your continued loyalty and look forward to seeing you and your little ones all very soon.

Hi everyone as you know we have now come into some very hot weather, I have therefore posted a couple of very important notices concerning your furbabies and appointments

I do know that it can (for some) be a small walk to the groomers but please be aware of the below posts, if you do not have any transport to bring your pooches to their appointments then please do not attempt to walk them, I would prefer you to cancel the appointment for another time as this will be much safer for your little one…

PDSA

Remember, if it's too hot for your hands or your bare feet, then it's too hot for their paw pads!!

If you're unsure whether it's okay to let your pet go for a walk on pavements, a simple way to test the temperature is by holding your bare skin on the tarmac for five seconds.

If you find it painful, then your pet will find it painful to walk on!

To protect your pet, it's best to avoid walks during the hottest part of the day, which is usually between 8am and 6pm. If you can't safely exercise your dog, missing a day won't hurt.

I haven’t forgotten about the cancellation list, but as soon as I receive any cancellations I will contact the next customer on the list, unfortunately it may be the case that your next booked appointment will be your fur babies next groom…

As many of you are aware, I am also having tendon problems in my wrist, which is to say the least very painful, however if I am ahead of schedule during the course of my day I will try to fit a pooch in from the cancellation list, depending on if my wrist allows…

Hi everyone,

I hope you all had a lovely Christmas and New Year.

I was hoping to keep this short (for a change), but alas one thing led to another, so the first notice after Christmas is, “I AM COMPLETELY FULL NOW” up until Christmas 2024, I do have a cancellation list running and needless to say I am still unable to take on anymore pooches.

There are some points I have no alternative but to mention and hopefully clear up, which are situations that seem to be happening more and more, these are not one off occurrences, and they do affect the smooth running of my business and other customers…

Dog Groomer..

A bit of a weird title but that is exactly what I am…NOT A DOG SITTER!!! So please make sure that as soon as you receive your text or phone call, to collect your furbabie/s, it is done as soon as possible, unfortunately I have been left to dog sit from between 30 mins to an hour and a half, this normally happens when customers think I have no other grooms after theirs, or at the end of my day when I am due to finish. I know I work very close to home but like many other working people, I do have family commitments and do look forward to some rest time, I haven’t charged any extra for dog sitting at the moment but if it does continue I will, and if it is refused I will cancel any future appointments you have with me to allow for new customers….

Failure to Attend…

As you are all aware this is my livelihood which means that if an appointment is forgotten or there is a failure to attend for whatever reason without any notification, not only am I waiting around, but most of all, this results in me losing money, and it is also too short notice for the next customer/poochie on the cancellation list to attend and therefore a poochie also loses out… so please can everyone make a note of their future dates to ensure this doesn’t happen… as this could also affect your future appointments…

Dropping off and Collecting furbabies…

I do know that not being given a definite time to collect pooches after a groom can be a bit of a pain, but due to the way I work i.e one to one, no restraints and no caged pooches waiting etc, giving an exact time isn’t easy, however, most of my pooches have been coming to me for a very long time which means my customers will be roughly aware of when they will receive either a text or phone call for collection, please please keep an eye on your phone, as not seeing a text due to working, shopping, walking, sleeping, school runs, etc etc also affects the running of my business and also affects the next customers appointment which really isn’t fair. I have had times where the next customer has had to cancel because of a late collection.

Fleas…

Please please make sure your furbabies are treated, not just for their own wellbeing but for the wellbeing of those pooches I groom. I have found that I am spending more time and money on cleaning and treating my cabin and tools because of this and it really is not necessary, I also have the added problem of vet bills as my indoor cat has an allergy to fleas, and if I unknowingly carry any fleas into my home this means her health deteriorates and a trip to the vets is necessary, meaning more unnecessary expense, needless to say our dog is treated and checked continuously because of this, so once again please check your pooches as a trip to the groomers is not a cure…

My Garden…

I know that a lot of pooches do prefer to relieve themselves on grass, but please note that my garden is not available for this, there is a grassy area in the street on their way in, or if they happen to go on the driveway that’s really not a problem…

Soooo you will no doubt be pleased that this is it for the moment, I don’t like to be the bearer of bad news but the above does affect myself, customers and their furbabies, and I’m pleased to say that due to the way I run my business, is the reason why I am full until Christmas 2024, I have also had customers want to book for 2025 but I’m unable to do that at the moment, so please take note of the above as it will help everyone in the long run.

Hi everyone,

As the year draws to a close, I want to extend my heartfelt thanks for your continued support.

I would also like to thank you for allowing me the privilege of pampering your cherished fur babies, and especially for your patience when family matters led to last-minute appointment changes. Your understanding as well as loyalty during these moments has been truly touching.

Beyond a professional relationship, we've become a community of friends, sharing not only the joys but also the challenges of life. Your love, care, and patience mean so much to me, especially during tough times.

Without your support, this year would have been much tougher… and needless to say all of my pooches are a real tonic, bless them. ❤️

Hi everyone, I would like to say good morning, but unfortunately it isn’t quite that good…

It is with a really heavy heart that I have to say that young Alfie took a walk to rainbow bridge last night, I can honestly say he was a great big softie, and an absolute pleasure to groom … except for his paws…well the tops were ok, but it was trying to relieve him of his local forest from around his pads, he did have his little dozes on the grooming table so thats when I chanced my luck 🤭… but to no avail, he always gave me that little “you’re really pushing it” grumble… 😁

So not a one to be defeated, it was something I worked on for quite a few years, and the little fella knew it, but unfortunately he wasn’t a one to give up either, bless him, so it went on, although a little progress was made, I think that’s because he felt sorry for me and gave me a little leeway, even so I really believed we reached the first milestone… but that was it… we were back to the grumbles… the song “I did it my way” does spring to mind 🥲

Alfie never held a grudge with my attempts at grooming his paws, and as I said he was a big softie, putting up with my hugs and fusses, making good use of the comfy dog bed and he did look forward too seeing his dad to get back home to his mum, brother and sister…and a proper nap.

My heart goes out to Tim and Jean, along with Sam and Freya, Alfie’s brother and sister, I know he will be greatly missed, I for one will miss him so much and our battle of the paws… God bless you little one, big hugs and kisses are sent to you 😘

You can now have a nap without your paws being groomed 💙💙💙

😤😤😤RANT ALERT😤😤😤

Hi everyone, unfortunately as you can see this its going to be a notice with just the hint of a whinge!

So… I’m fully aware that everyone has very busy lives and are desperately trying to make ends meet and sometimes the last thing anybody wants to read are emails and notices from their dog groomer!!!

As you are aware, I too have a very busy life, I am fully booked until February 2024 and at the same time my cost of living, whether in business or my home life, (as with everyone else in the country) has also increased. Even though I have tried hard to keep my prices as low as I can compared to mainstream competitors, I had no alternative but to increase my prices as from FRIDAY 1st SEPTEMBER 2023…

On Saturday 16th JULY, 2023, I made the intention to increase prices as clear as I possibly could via the Pawfect Cuts FB, and also on the same day I displayed two notices in my cabin, one on the door facing out as you walk in, and one on the wall above my grooming table, both notices are still on show in my cabin, one still in situ facing out, the other on the inside of the door so it can be seen when leaving the cabin…

Unfortunately even after the increase I still have the odd one or two customers insist that they are not aware of the change in price and are not able to pay the balance of the groom when collecting their pooches…

I have found that when looking at my records at the times when their pooches were previously groomed, that it was before the increase yet well within the time when both the email and notices were made clear, but unfortunately for some reason one, or the other two had not been read!

Although payment wasn’t made in full at the time of collection, an agreement has been made with those concerned that the outstanding balance will be settled.

As you can see, and as you do know, I do try my best to be accommodating to all of my customers and their furbabies, and provide a one to one service that you would be hard pushed to find elsewhere, so please remember this is my livelihood and any PC FB/notices are important…plus it saves any embarrassment and possible disagreements as I will not waiver the difference just because a notice has not been read… would a shop???

Hi everyone,

🐶🐕🐩IMPORTANT INFORMATION 🐩🐶🐕

As you are all aware, I am fully booked (until late January 24), and therefore I am not in a position to take on anymore pooches, I do have a cancellation list but due to it getting longer, I cannot guarantee on everyone being lucky enough to receive a cancellation.

As you also know, I do try my utmost to ensure pooches are groomed even to the point where I have worked later in the day, worked Bank Holidays and also worked on the odd day off that I try to treat myself too, in order to try to keep the cancellation list down.

Unfortunately I am currently in a position, due to personal reasons, that I will have no choice but to take the odd bit of time out it could be 1-2 days it could be a week, and unfortunately if your appt is cancelled due to my situation, I will not be able to squeeze any furbabies in for grooms or add them to the top of the cancellation list, for reasons I have previously explained, and therefore you may like to make alternative arrangements, just until my position changes.

So, I apologise in advance for any inconvenience caused and hopefully in the near future we can return to normal.

Could I also ask all of my customers (even if you don’t normally comment on the FB) who follow my Pawfect Cuts FB, to please just give the 👍 that you have read this page.
