Hi everyone,
I hope you all had a lovely Christmas and New Year.
I was hoping to keep this short (for a change), but alas one thing led to another, so the first notice after Christmas is, βI AM COMPLETELY FULL NOWβ up until Christmas 2024, I do have a cancellation list running and needless to say I am still unable to take on anymore pooches.
There are some points I have no alternative but to mention and hopefully clear up, which are situations that seem to be happening more and more, these are not one off occurrences, and they do affect the smooth running of my business and other customersβ¦
Dog Groomer..
A bit of a weird title but that is exactly what I amβ¦NOT A DOG SITTER!!! So please make sure that as soon as you receive your text or phone call, to collect your furbabie/s, it is done as soon as possible, unfortunately I have been left to dog sit from between 30 mins to an hour and a half, this normally happens when customers think I have no other grooms after theirs, or at the end of my day when I am due to finish. I know I work very close to home but like many other working people, I do have family commitments and do look forward to some rest time, I havenβt charged any extra for dog sitting at the moment but if it does continue I will, and if it is refused I will cancel any future appointments you have with me to allow for new customersβ¦.
Failure to Attendβ¦
As you are all aware this is my livelihood which means that if an appointment is forgotten or there is a failure to attend for whatever reason without any notification, not only am I waiting around, but most of all, this results in me losing money, and it is also too short notice for the next customer/poochie on the cancellation list to attend and therefore a poochie also loses outβ¦ so please can everyone make a note of their future dates to ensure this doesnβt happenβ¦ as this could also affect your future appointmentsβ¦
Dropping off and Collecting furbabiesβ¦
I do know that not being given a definite time to collect pooches after a groom can be a bit of a pain, but due to the way I work i.e one to one, no restraints and no caged pooches waiting etc, giving an exact time isnβt easy, however, most of my pooches have been coming to me for a very long time which means my customers will be roughly aware of when they will receive either a text or phone call for collection, please please keep an eye on your phone, as not seeing a text due to working, shopping, walking, sleeping, school runs, etc etc also affects the running of my business and also affects the next customers appointment which really isnβt fair. I have had times where the next customer has had to cancel because of a late collection.
Fleasβ¦
Please please make sure your furbabies are treated, not just for their own wellbeing but for the wellbeing of those pooches I groom. I have found that I am spending more time and money on cleaning and treating my cabin and tools because of this and it really is not necessary, I also have the added problem of vet bills as my indoor cat has an allergy to fleas, and if I unknowingly carry any fleas into my home this means her health deteriorates and a trip to the vets is necessary, meaning more unnecessary expense, needless to say our dog is treated and checked continuously because of this, so once again please check your pooches as a trip to the groomers is not a cureβ¦
My Gardenβ¦
I know that a lot of pooches do prefer to relieve themselves on grass, but please note that my garden is not available for this, there is a grassy area in the street on their way in, or if they happen to go on the driveway thatβs really not a problemβ¦
Soooo you will no doubt be pleased that this is it for the moment, I donβt like to be the bearer of bad news but the above does affect myself, customers and their furbabies, and Iβm pleased to say that due to the way I run my business, is the reason why I am full until Christmas 2024, I have also had customers want to book for 2025 but Iβm unable to do that at the moment, so please take note of the above as it will help everyone in the long run.
