Ned came for his first groom at Marfa’s Mutts today and he was a champ! A little nervous but receptive to everything I needed to do. I think he’s going to settle in well. Looking forward to seeing him again soon.

Rufus 🤎

Rufus came for an EmmiPet ultrasound teeth clean today. He did really well for 45 minutes and then decided he didn’t want any more so we stopped. Appointments are booked for an hour.

Lots of plaque was successfully removed but there is still some more to work on. We have booked a follow up but will have to see if Rufus is happy to proceed again next week.

Otherwise he will need to be referred to a vet for sedation. His owner doesn’t really want this as sedation makes him poorly afterwards. Let’s all keep our fingers crossed that Rufus is happy to have some more treatment next week at Marfa’s Mutts!

Ultrasound teeth cleaning is super non-invasive. No vibrations from the brush at all. However a dog needs to be receptive to having the brush in their mouth for a time and for me to go in and remove any stubborn plaque using a tool.

Unfortunately not all dogs are receptive to this process without sedation. But we can try! For dogs who are receptive the results are incredible! Chewing on a bone after ultrasound has loosened the plaque can also help more of it break away by itself.

Rufus is nervous boy so i’m very proud of how well he did. Despite having had enough of teeth cleaning he was comfortable and affectionate with me once he knew we were finished. Well done Rufus! See you next week to attempt round 2! 🤞🤞🤞

Well 2024 is almost over. What a year! This year Marfa’s Mutts has become my sole trade. So many new and wonderful clients, dogs and humans! I can’t tell you all how grateful I am for being able to do what I love full time. Thank you so much for supporting my small business all of you 😘

Now we are all looking at the start of a new year. 2024 has been one of the most life changing for me. I have made so many new connections and I thank founder of for a HUGE part in that. Getting to know so many other inspiring entrepreneurs who I can now call my friends has been truly one of the best things that could have happened this year. I couldn’t be without them now. Love you all so much 💜

Also my dog grooming girls Sally and Shelby who I just would not want to run my business without ever. They’re always on the other end of the phone during hard times and always ready for mischief and laughs when we need some of that too. My girls. Love you❤️

And my Bodhi. My boy who doesn’t have an easy life with his rare and at times painful autoimmune condition but who is my constant, my every day and is so loyal and loving. Like dogs are. He puts up with the cone of shame more often than he should and silly boots on his broken feet. But is always happy and content none the less. Cheers to another year with you my beautiful boy 🥰

It really has been the most productive year. I’ve found new loves in regular yoga practice with and strength training thanks to at .gym where Iv met even more like minded people and have become the strongest and fittest that I have ever been 💪

And of course my wonderful friends and family who are always there to pick me up when things are tough and who I really couldn’t imagine life without. Love you forev’s 🫶

Thank you 2024 and everyone who’s been in it. It really has been one of the best years of my life. I have more peace and love than I could have hoped for not so long ago 🥰

I’m gonna stop being soppy now and just say…..
