Another training walk for Willow.

Wind combined with traffic.

She did fab.

A fence panel spooked her but a quick glance up fpr reassurance (with a treat) and she was all good.

Sometimes I walk our two separately. Gives them some full attention time with me. This is important for Emme as she continues to accept Willow into the pack.

Also our little skallywag Willow gets some quality loose lead training, practice recall and lone confidence building.

Plus I don't need to be looking in two places at once for p**p alert!

Willow and Emme loving life.

Look at these two rescues learning to play. So sweet. Our wee Pepper Dog was a beautiful dog but she would not play with Emme.

So these two now have a loving safe home and each other for play and comfort.

2.75 miles

These open fields and woods are a regular walk for me so I am pleased that the pigeon shooting was going ahead.

Trying to get Willow socialised to lots of different settings. As you can see, from following Emmes confident attitude and my soft reassurance, she did fab.

All dogs need sooo much socialisation in sooooo many different places. The idea is to normalise what could be seen as scary, that way you make it not scary.

Oh and it should never be sink or swim!
Get to know your dog/pup and slowly expose. Sometimes, esp young pups, holding them in the scary place can be a great starting point. This is exactly how our doggies esp Pepper Dog learnt to enjoy, yes enjoy fireworks!
