Don’t walk in hot weather play games or buy a paddling pool ! Best £20 ever! (The ducks are jealous!) Make regular breaks to go in a cool house ! Buy cool matts etc and generally use your common sense! Look after your fur babies !

Hate making this kind of post guys, but keep seeing of late posts of new or up-and-coming dog trainers/walkers saying they are behaviourists. To set the record straight there are exactly 3 qualified registered behaviourists in Mercyside two of which reside in Formby one is myself. If they are not covered by:

international canine behaviourist (ICB)
Association of pet behaviourist and trainers (APBT)
The animal training and behaviour Council (ATBC)
Association of Pet behaviour counsellors ( APBC).

These are the only Veterinary recommended associations, if in doubt ask the behaviourist if they can do vet referrals, and insurance claims if they cannot they are not qualified or registered. It takes at least an honours degree and years of experience to become qualified and not only that but these associations hold that behaviourist accountable, giving you peace of mind.

Had the fantastic pleasure of meeting the lovely Paddy, despite being extremely new to his new family he has picked up Training fantastically and only wants to please enjoying every moment, he’s a very happy go lucky chap and I am sure he will settle perfectly into his new family x

It’s that time of year again !!! Showing season ! I just want to let clients and potential clients know that as of 25th of March 2025, I will be back showing my horses, this means that Saturdays and Sundays won’t really be an option for Training, they’re already at a premium, as it takes me three days to get my horses ready and a day to recover, ha ha I hope you understand. I have worked 6/7 days a week for 12 months or more and do really want to spend time with my own horses/dogs and oh yeah, the family ha ha, obviously if it’s something that can only be done at a weekend then that will take priority but as we’ve got lighter evenings, it shouldn’t be a problem anyway. Hope you understand guys and look forward to the rest of the summer training ###

Changing behaviours takes time, but this lad is a testament to that, working really hard his owners gave him the time he needed and today he played really really nicely with another dog my Willow some of you may recognise her from the reactive Dog classes and I use her quite often in training because she’s very neutral, and other dogs seem to gravitate towards her! Well done pal to many more days playing in the sand ###
