Our aim is to give you advice that is in the best interests of your pet in order to maintain or improve their health. Town Vets are an experienced community based veterinary team. This means your pet will benefit from seeing the same Vet or Vet Nurse each time your pet arrives at our practice.

FELINE FRIDAY 🐈

This lovely bunch came to visit the practice recently to get weighed and wormed before going to their new homes. They had their innocent kitten looks perfected already!

🦷DENTAL CARE 🦷

Did you know that 9/10 adult dogs and 7/10 adult cats suffer from dental disease? Bacterial plaque build-up on teeth can cause infection and inflammation of the gums and tooth roots which can be very painful for our furry friends!

Happy Vet Nurse Day! 💚

Today is a day to celebrate the vital role our veterinary nurses play in the health and care of your animals.
Here are our three RVN's at Town Vets who all trained in house with us. They work hard every day taking care of your pets as if they were their own. They do everything from answering the phones and providing advice to assisting with surgery, anaesthesia and diagnostic testing and imaging.

Did you know Town Vets offer a collection and drop off service for your pets if you are unable to get them in to practice yourself.

We also offer a home euthanasia service so that your pet can remain in the comfort of their own home during their final moments. We can usually provide this service on the same day depending on practice demand.

This is Lauren, many of you will recognise her as she has been with us coming up to 6 years! She has recently completed her training to become a Veterinary Care Assistant. Lauren's favourite part of the job is getting to know the clients and performing K-laser sessions on our patients. Outside of work she likes to go camping and for walks with her new puppy, Daisy 🐶

Is your pet scared of fireworks?🎆

Next weekend is the Southport Musical Fireworks so now is a good time to start preparing your pets. There are many ways to help calm pets during these situations including:

• Providing them with a safe space in a quieter area of the house
• Play some relaxing, classical music
• Walk pets during the day to try and avoid the risk of them getting spooked or bolting

We offer a calming supplement that can help relieve anxiety for pet's that get very stressed. If you think your pet requires a supplement or possibly medication to help them cope then please get in touch and speak with a member of our team that can offer more advice.

GOOD NEWS! BRANDO HAS COME HOME!

HAVE YOU SEEN BRANDO?🐈

Brando has been MISSING since Monday from the Kew area, Southport. He is a 4 year old Siamese, he is neutered and chipped and should be wearing a black collar.
He normally stays around Redcar Close, the alley to Kew Woods Primary School and Cartmel close.

His owner is very worried as he is never out for long, he's usually inside napping!

Please can anyone local to the area share this post and check garages or sheds in case he has gotten stuck in somewhere.

☀️ BANK HOLIDAY☀️

Town Vets will be open as usual tomorrow between 9-12pm then will be closed over the bank holiday, returning to normal opening hours on Tuesday 27th August.

If your pet is on our practice plan or you have registered with us for the Vidivet service, don't forget you will have UNLIMITED 24 hour access to fully qualified vets throughout the weekend should you need them! 🐾

Alternatively, if you need veterinary assistance during this time please call the practice number and you will be given the details for our OOH provider.
