WoW update
Evening all, Julie here.
Well what a week it's been!
It started with Tracy injuring herself, no she didn't fall in the hole she simply twisted on the ladder and popped out a rib, ouch! She's been in agony, relying on painkillers to get through the day. After a few days of rest and with the help of a friend she managed to claw back the days lost without exerting herself or injuring herself further.
The back filling has begun which is a crucial part of this adventure.
We can't help but be excited, still lots to do and the finishing line to in sight. πΎ
WOW Friday Update
Delivery of the roof trusses was planned for 8.30, but once again I've had excellent service and it was here for 7.50. The company,Tailor-Made Designs Ltd, have been absolutely brilliant throughout the whole process and quickly amended the CAD plans a number of times before I was happy. First fix and I've not had to do any jiggery pokery l, they sit perfectly on the posts and beams.
I did manage to drop a 4.8m 6x2 on my head yesterday, actually my face, well to be precise my nose. It knocked me into the hole and then landed on my foot, I saw stars. 1 broken nose (again, I wouldn't mind but it's not big) and 3 very sore swollen toes which may also be broken. Considering the amount of power tools and dangerous equipment I've been using it's not bad really, I've done worse in the past.
Hopefully the roof trusses will be in place by the end of the weekend and next week will be spent fully fixing and adding the additional noggins. All good fun πΎ
In Loving Memory of Junior.
Last week I was informed of the sad news that one of our older waggers, Junior, had crossed rainbow π bridge and is now swimming in rainbow π river.
Therefore, as a mark of respect I decided the last padstone to be made would be extra special. It was set last night and today I have spent the time carving his name into it. I'm no stone mason but I'm pleased with the result. I have included an image of it at the end of his memorial video.
Junior, a great big soft bear, sadly missed but never forgotten πΎ
WOW Update
The rain played havoc with the moisture levels in the sand on Sunday which in turn made life difficult when compacting the sand. However I did complete it and managed to finish earlier than normal for some fun with the girls. I thought you would appreciate a video of them swimming not one of me walking around endlessly for hours. ππΎπ¦
WoW update.
Today the 14th and final post was concreted into position. It's the corner one, far left. π
The beam you can see running left to right is there for extra support and it is not the height of the finished roof, it will sit on the top of the posts.
Apologies that I seemed to focus on Tracy's bottom in the video, it was not intentional, it was to show you all how hard she's working. However I do think it is a nice bottom! π
Tomorrow will begin the task of levelling and compacting in readiness for the padstones πΎ
WOW update.
Hi all, Julie here.
You may not see a difference to the pool today but believe me Tracy has been working hard concreting the posts in. However the biggest achievement today was my lesson in how to make said concrete! A lesson I passed with flying colours and I get to post all about it!! π πΎ
WOW update.
I don't really need to say much as the video says it all. Apologies for the pooh, the girls do like a bit of privacy when going to loo, they snuck in and left me a present for all to see on video....little......darlings πΎ
We would like to wish everyone and their beautiful doggies a very Merry a Christmas! We will be back open in the New Year and look forward to welcoming you all back soon for lots of splashing good fun!
The WagWater team π¦
WOW update. Things are going better, albeit I'm shattered. Dug and Dumpy have gone back home and I'm currently moving the soil and sand around the hole manually in order to get a decent base to level. We are a lot behind schedule and it is looking more likely we won't be finished until the new year. Please bear with us, I promise I'll get it completed as quickly as humanly possible πΎ
WOW Update. Today was a good day. A big thanks to Smiths Hire for the service they provided with Dug and the extra days free, it means Wagatha's hole will definitely be dug by the end of the weekend. Then along came Robbie Cook with his grabber and removed my mound. Just after Jue says on the video it would have made life easier if we'd had this around the back I pop into shot and sign the same thing....great minds and all that. More has been dug but I didn't get a chance to take a photo before it went dark. Oh and to compact it I've decided to hold a stomping party instead of hiring a compactor, all you need is some sturdy boots and you can join in the fun.
Apologies for the lack of posts recently, my mind has been elsewhere planning. I was going to wait until the grand reopening to share this improvement, but someone is bound to see the house disappear behind a sand dune and the cat will be out the bag. Or should that be dog out of pool? Yes as Paul Weller would say, Wagatha is going underground, not completely but enough to make it easier for dogs and humans to enter π
Update, sorry forgot to mention a track came off the digger around 4 last night so now stranded. It means it wont but dug out by Sunday eve so the project is slightly delayed βΉοΈ
Dougal Erection
The moment we've all been waiting for. Dougal has been up and checked. Alas we did find a seam hadn't been stitched to the end leaving a hole, so it's negation time with the company to find an agreeable solution. Currently it means the only way for Dougal to stay erect is by Wilson constantly blowing. However once he is sorted we think Dougal will be perfect. Do you all agree?
