This is a video mid groom today with 6 month old Penny, she understandably arrived nervous with her ears and tail tucked - entering a new environment. The owner mentioned that they play ‘chilled dog music’ at home as she’s prone to anxiety and this helps. 20 minutes into her groom - after lots of reassurance, cuddles and some calm music she stopped shaking / crying, appearing calm and happy🥹 My main goal with puppies (or any age of dog) is to gain their trust and feel like they’re in a safe place when they’re in my company and salon. I achieve this by adapting my grooms to suit the dog, e.g using my hair dryer / clippers on a lower setting if the dog is sensitive to noice, providing treats, letting clients stay etc. Every dog is different, take time to observe and meet their individual needs 🐶 ❤️💙
