As the wet weather attracts more slugs and snails please be reminded of the risks of lungworm to your pets! Your pet may contract lungworm via direct or indirect contact with a slug or snail. This means that your pet doesn’t necessarily have to touch one (by licking or chewing a slug or snail) to become unwell, they can pick up the infection just by licking or playing with toys, drinking from water bowls that have been left outside or exposed to snail/slug slime. 🐌
It is recommended that you keep your pet up to date with flea and worming treatment. If you would like to know more about lungworm and how to prevent it, you can visit our website on https://www.vets4pets.com/pet-health-advice/dog-advice/lungworm-in-dogs/ or call us at the practice on 02392864400 to speak to a member of the team.
