Poppy here is an older lady. Recently her owner bought her into the practice to see our vet Rachel because she was very sad and struggling with her movement. She is also blind and has moments of cognitive dysfunction. Rachel referred her to our nurses for laser therapy which she has been having weekly for the past few months.

Poppy’s dog walker couldn’t wait to tell her owner how impressed she was with her walking now and she has even been on a family holiday this summer. She is planning another get away in October as well which is just amazing 🤩

During Poppy’s first few visits she stood very still with her head down and she seemed quite sad. Now you can see from these photos she’s a cheeky, happy girl sniffing out treats 🐾

We are so proud of you Poppy and love seeing you every week.

A real life Andrex puppy!

Thor here came to see our nurse at Fernwood today for his monthly arthritis medication. Thor is a celebrity because he was on the telly as an andrex puppy when he was a youngster. And he was a superstar for his injection too 🌟

This is Jaguar who has been visiting us at our Newark and Fernwood branches for the past few weeks. He was initially feeling poorly and was sore on the side of his body. He had a mystery swelling which turned out to be a nasty abscess. Poor Jaguar must have been in a fight with another cat as this is usually how abscesses form. Luckily the infection burst out of the skin and with some medication and laser treatment he is now fully recovered. Well done Jaguar 🐆 🐾 🐈‍⬛

The Newark branch have had a deceased male entire black and white cat handed in this afternoon. Found on the bridge over the A1 in Long Bennington.

The calverton branch have had a black cat handed in, the cat is microchipped but unfortunately no details have been registered. Please call us on 0115 965 6341 as soon as possible as unfortunately this cat has been injured

We couldn’t be prouder of Libby and Shannon, they have passed all of their exams and are now Qualified Veterinary Nurses!

UPDATE

**Thank you for everyone’s concern and help sharing. We contacted the local council’s dog warden who collected him last week so that his owner has the opportunity to contact them. He is now in their care so please contact them with any further queries**

Unfortunately a deceased cat has been brought into the Burton joyce branch by a member of the public, he was found near lowdham roundabout. He is ginger, neutered, no collar or microchip. If you believe this could be your cat please contact the team.

We’ve had a slightly different patient in today at our Newark practice. Alpro came in to have her leg casted to stabilise a fracture. We usually just see companion animals at Newark and Farm animals are treated generally from our Southwell branch so this was a novelty for us. She was very noisy and full of character 😂😁
