Osteoarthritis is a chronic degenerative disease where joints become inflamed, the shock-absorbing cartilage thins and the surface of the bones within the joint become rough due to new bone formation. The body responds to this by producing further inflammation and the cycle continues.

It's a common topic of discussion, with many people saying garlic is fine for pets to eat - but there is evidence to show that red blood cells are damaged, which, in excess, will cause anaemia. Early or subtle signs of anaemia may very well go undetected!

I’ve just been to see the gorgeous Carly and her sister Maggie. Carly needed her nails trimming - something she isn’t usually a fan of - but with lots of treats, cuddles and plenty of time, we got it done and Carly was a superstar! 🌟

I saw the handsome Pinto & Perran this week, sister Percie was feeling a little worried and didn’t come out to say hello. I’m a firm believer of positive reinforcement and feline (& canine) friendly handling - so will always come with treats at the ready!! Prior to these boys, I clipped the nails of two doggies who were not a fan of pedicures, but treats, lots of praise and plenty of time allowed both to be achieved with minimal stress 🩷

It’s National Seatbelt Day!

Driving with a pet in your car that isn’t appropriately restrained is not only an offence, but it can result in fatality, should you be involved in a collision or have to come to a sudden stop.

A dog seatbelt saved my tiny 2kg chihuahua when a car pulled out in front of me on a roundabout many years ago and I had to emergency stop! Had he not been wearing his seatbelt, he’d have sustained traumatic injuries that could have been life threatening! It doesn’t bare thinking about.

Strap them in, there’s no excuse.
