At this time of year we are remembering. I had this tattoo earlier this year for several reasons.
Remembering fallen and injured friends from my time in service and conflicts before and since.
As a former Army dog handler I have not just red poppies but also purple poppies to remember service personnel and animals from conflicts.
The dog in the tattoo is Pax, one of the dogs some of my friends will remember from Waterbeach.
Pax was also the first part of an amazing journey I have taken in life. I didn't have dogs growing up and Pax is the first dog I had a connection with and responsibility for. Pax also taught me that dogs are sentient beings and about their intelligence and joy they can bring. Pax had a special trick that some on here will remember π. My journey with Pax ultimately brought me to where I am today owning my own boarding kennels. At this time of year I think of him although he is long gone. My first dog, a breed I have loved ever since and a breed I will always have as my canine companion.
Remember the service personnel, remember the service animals.
At the going down of the sun, we will remember them.
Regard
Tony
