The Malinois - Belgian Shepherd.
Whenever we talk about a breed, it is a generalisation but there is a reason that we use terriers for ratting, and retrievers for retrieving.
There is a growing trend in the UK to say things like "if you're not racist then you shouldn't be breedist" if you genuinely believe this then I ask you one question.... Would you recommend an inexperienced first time dog owner buy a Malinois?
I certainly wouldn't recommend a Malinois to most homes. They are high maintenance and specialist dogs.
Every dog is a individual and there will always be exceptions to the rule however there are some dogs that just need more than others.

To deny genetics play a part in behaviour is naive. It's not nature OR nurture. It's both.

If you agree with me then share this to slow down the increase of Malinois going to the wrong homes!

Hiring a dog walker should not be taken lightly.

Copied from the Professional Dog Walkers Association page:

With the profession currently generally unregulated and with the pandemic, it seems some people are taking dog walking on as a way to make "easy, quick money". This means there are lots of people doing the job and many to choose from. Some, at best with little experience or qualifications and at worst with no insurance or care and consideration to the dogs health, safety and welfare.

As we all know at the PDWA, members invest hugely into their businesses to help keep everyone as safe and happy as possible; including financial costs such as business insurance, vehicle insurance, crates or safety bars for safer transportation in vehicles, training courses, national insurance contributions, income tax, licence to work in some council areas, PPE / cleaning products / dog equipment for safer Covid working... to name a few.

The information sheet has some tips on what the public should look for when thinking of hiring a dog walker. We have also produced a detailed article on the subject on our News blog. The link includes downloadable suggestions for what to ask a potential new dog walker.
Note, the article was written in 2019, pre-Covid. Please ensure safe Covid protocol is in place based on your home nation government guidance:
