End of year report time for our hounds. Sunny, Marv and Otis have passed every assessment with flying colours and are ready to make a new family very happy in the New Year, read what our Kennel Club accredited behaviourist Sara from Rewards Dog Training says about them

Happy new year to everyone, I would like to thank everyone who rehomed a dog during 2024, to those of you thinking about it please take the plunge in 2025, you won’t regret it.
Big thanks to all our volunteers who work so tirelessly at walking, socialising, fundraising and assisting in various ways, especially Rewards Dog Training and K9 Freedom Fields Coxhoe.
Also a big shout out to all the kennel staff who work tirelessly 365 days a year in all weathers to make sure our retired dogs are happy, healthy and well looked after 🎉🥂

Sunny, Otis and Marv met Santa today and asked PLEASE can they have a forever home.
All three were beautifully behaved all day and were friendly towards every dog and human that they met. They did enjoy the puppacinos and treats on offer but were really sad when they had to return to kennels, especially Sunny who finds kennel life rather stressful.

Please consider a black boy, they really do make the most wonderful pets and remember colour is only skin deep. Black hounds have the biggest most loving hearts ♥️

Stunning Otis will be visiting Santa Paws Rewards Dog Training on Sunday. Otis is still young but he is totally laidback, he likes to lean on you for cuddles and treats and would suit any home without cats or small furries. He is exceptionally handsome and comes with his own brand new leather collar & lead, coat, food, dental care kit to keep his lovely teeth sparkly and is up to date on vaccinations etc. he has a clean bill of health and is neutered. Home checks will be done, full backup up provided and a donation required.

Sunny will be seeing Santa Paws at K9 Freedom Fields Coxhoe on Sunday to ask for his forever home. Pop along if you’d like to meet Sunny and his friends, he’s a handsome friendly chap that loves a stroke, he would love a new home for the New Year as he finds kennel life rather stressful now he’s retired. Sunny is a calm and gentle boy who walks quietly on the lead, he is non reactive to other breeds and enjoys the company of sensible children. Sunny comes with full backup, his own collar & lead, coat, food and other essentials and is up to date on vaccinations, worming etc. he is neutered. Sunny would prefer a cat free home please.
Sara from Rewards Dog Training will be there to discuss any training needs, all our dogs have attended Sara’s socialisation sessions and will receive one free session with their new owners

On Sunday Marv will be waiting to meet Santa Paws at K9 Freedom Fields Coxhoe. He wants to ask Santa why he is still waiting for a home, this is his second Christmas waiting for a home and he’s been such a good boy all year. Marv is a friendly easygoing chap who gets on well with everyone including sensible children however he is a large lad so best suited to homes with adults or older children purely due to his size as he might knock smaller children over. He wouldn’t like to share with a cat or small furries but anyone else would be fine. Marv comes neutered and with a clean bill of health. He is up to date on all vaccinations, worming, flea’ing etc and will have his own collar & lead, coat, food and other essentials. As well as Christmas Dinners we were also able to buy some fantastic natural treats for our hounds, lots of sardines and 48 cans of dog food as well as salmon pate and duck & turkey pate. Some useful kennel supplies, seaweed to keep their teeth sparkly, 4 fish oil for shiny coats, leucillin for any little cuts or scrapes and 10 new muzzles to be used for group walks (prevents any little squabbles and is essential for insurance purposes)

A while ago we did a Christmas Dinner Raffle for our hounds and everyone was extremely generous. With the proceeds we have managed to buy TWO full Christmas Dinners! One is for Christmas Day and one for New Years Day and consists of roast turkey, seasonal veg and pasta with pigs in blankets and Yorkshire Pudding.

Gorgeous Plum is being fostered over Christmas, lucky girl! We don’t normally rehome during the festive season because it can be a stressful time for dogs but Plum’s fosterers are having a quiet Christmas which is ideal for her to learn about life in a home. Enjoy your Christmas Plum Sauce 🎄

If you like stripes then gorgeous Clyde is the boy for you! Clyde is energetic, he loves being out and about and would suit an active family, he can pull a bit but this is improving as Clyde gets out and about more, he’s just so eager to explore and see new things. Clyde is friendly but needs a home without cats or small furries, he has been to socialisation sessions at Rewards Dog Training and did extremely well, new owners will be offered a free session as well as getting full back up. Homechecks and a donation are required, Clyde will be rehomed with his own leather collar & lead, coat, muzzle, grooming and toothcare requirements and bag of food.

Tall dark and handsome! Pencil awaits a home either by himself or with a lady friend. He walks beautifully on the lead and is very affectionate. As with all our dogs Pencil comes with full back up and a starter kit including food. Homechecks and a donation are required.

Jimbo, very handsome and very large! Jimbo is sweet natured and walks well on the lead however he can be reactive to other breeds particularly small fluffy ones. Jimbo is learning all the time and continues to improve, he would like a home with no cats or small pets and with someone willing to continue his training and socialisation skills.
