Unfortunately we’re going to have to close today, it certainly rained more than we expected over night! 🌧️ The walkways from our car park, into the welcome centre are all underwater, all the drains seem to be overflowing and the main yard itself is beyond puddled! We hope it’ll drain quickly, but for the safety of our animals and visitors it wouldn’t be correct to open. We will be back open tomorrow (Wednesday) though, as long as it’s dried out. Thank you for your understanding! ❤️☔️

We had a great time at Horncastle Horse Fair! Bailey our #clydesdale and Connie & Brian the #falabella miniature horses loved meeting lots of lovely people and were superstars! A huge thank you to our own volunteers for the sheer amount of work put into taking the horses and our running our tombola. We were able to raise over £300 for our sanctuary. Also massive thanks to East Lindsey District Council, Horncastle Town Council, Bruce Knight with SessionsArts and everybody else who made the town event a possibility. We are proud to have been part of the successful event.

Over the weekend, we welcomed four ducklings into our care after their mother sadly passed away. They are now thriving and content with their new step-dad, Splash! Splash is our seasoned cockerel, who has heroically survived both a fox attack and a badger attack while protecting his hens and chicks. We are thrilled to introduce you to Oscar, the newest addition to our sanctuary! 💜 Oscar is a 7-year-old Clydesdale, standing at approximately 17.2 hands high. Sadly, Oscar suffers from sarcoids, which are essentially tumorous lumps. These lumps are particularly problematic as they appear in sensitive areas, requiring twice-daily treatment and constant monitoring to ensure his best possible comfort. Oscar is extremely loyal and loving, and we are already so proud to have him with us. We hope you can meet Oscar, along with our other new resident, Churchill this summer.
