Woahhhhhh we’re half way there! 🎵
Hold my horse, we’ve got this and we’re nearly there…. 💪🏼
Another set of dedicated riders today - well done everyone 💜
When the waters frozen and the child is moaning she wants a drink…and you basically resort to trying anything 😂
Good try Bella, you just needed to stamp your foot in it 🙈💜
Earlier in September, Sian was asked by EC Pro to help them with a couple of questions for the The British Horse Society conferences.
I thought we'd share the video to give you an insight into why we moved to EC Pro and how its helped the business in terms of booking and efficiency.
A HUGE thank you to EC Pro for involving us - we were delighted to be involved! :)
Whilst Jordan was busy teaching, the rest of the “adults” were out hacking and making Tik Toks AGAIN!
We think this one is the only one that’s appropriate to share 🙈
Thank you to the girlies that came to the Halloween pony games…
We had a good laugh 🫢👻
We were counting strides last night in our jump clinic and working on corners, looking for our fences and recognising how many strides were between each fence!
Volume up to hear the girls helping Lola count! 🎤
Do you get the same number as the girls did? 🤔
Friends from the stables are always a little different 😌💜
T’was the day after Ben Nevis…. 🤕
The group like to believe they are fully fledged athletes and have told anyone that asks today they have in fact climbed Ben Nevis.
You may think that’s to show off or boast, but it’s actually to explain the quite frankly obscene way they are all walking today.
To be blunt - the group are shells of their former selves and they’ve no idea if their muscles will ever return to full mobility.
The day started with a lot of “oww’s” as each one got out of bed and waddled to the bathroom. Getting dressed took a while.
Before long we were on the road, although not far into the journey everyone got distracted by a ski lift you paid £17 for the pleasure of going up the mountain on. It’s not like we’d all seen one yesterday but you know…different mountain, different day and all that.
There was apparently a hike at the top which only took 15 minutes to get you to panoramic views, but everyone ignored Sian’s begs to go for a walk and instead stayed on the lift, went back down and decided on a hearty breakfast instead. Losers.
Pip tried Haggis for the first time and said although at first it reminded her of stuffing, the aftertaste was somewhat like you’d licked a sheep… now I can’t be sure when she last licked a sheep, but each to their own right?🫣
After daylight robbery and Siân being charged £19 for 2 sausages, 2 bits of bacon, some beans and a slice of toast, it was time to hit the road again and although the car was slightly quieter than on the way, there was a lot of reminiscing between all.
Surprisingly Pip and Jordan managed to stay awake for the car journey this time, but Pip was most put out that she wasn’t allowed to drive any leg of the journey. After the way she drove down the lane on Friday when we were all waiting to set off, it was decided she would be a better racing car driver than anything else.
The journey was going well until Perfect Pip became defeated by a curly wur
T’was the night of Ben Nevis ⛰️
What . A . Day it’s been.
The 7 hour car journey turned into 9 after a turn was taken off the motorway and the sat nav instantly added an hour onto the time. There was debates for the rest of the evening as to whether Charlotte had in fact taken a wrong turn…. Or it was the road closures fault. No concrete conclusion was reached - some might say it’s like the fishing trip from Gavin and Stacey; we’ll never know!
After Sian declared she was taking over the driving, calmness was restored; not that Jordan would know as she was doing her best sleeping beauty impression and slept almost all 9 hours, only briefly waking to the news that Sian has not in fact been taken up the shard recently…..
Carefully navigating through rogue deers on the Scottish roads at 1am was not on our to do list… it wasn’t on our agenda to be pulled over as Pip had enough sickness tablets on her to knock out an army.
Anyway, the group finally arrived to the apartment at 1:45am, but only after Jordan had briefly woken up to help with the final 5 minutes of the journey and assist in taking us around the same roads twice to find said apartment. This left us all with a mere 4 hours sleep, because who needs that when you’re about to climb the highest mountain in the UK and Scotland. Clearly not us 🙄
Morning came, and although Siân and Charlotte had barely slept, Jordan and Pip were bright eyed and bushy tailed after sleeping a full 9 hours in the car and then some….
Arrival time came to meet our guide for the day and immediately we set off on the WRONG foot as we declared we “MUST DO this Tik Tok” before we started the climb, and we needed to look in the gift shop first. The rest of the group rolled their eyes at us pulling our phones out - and not just on this occasion.
The start of the climb went relatively well although before long we realised Pip might go hungry as she appeared to have bought Stuart Littles back pack that w
T’was the night before Ben Nevis…. ⛰️
The car was packed,
24 bottles of water in the car,
A ridiculous amount of energy bars,
Several packs of sickness tablets for the journey,
Endless Spotify playlists,
A jam packed boot,
A couple of sets of new walking boots,
….. and 4 apprehensive passengers! 🫣
Jordans been walking up and down the muck heap, adamant Ben Nevis won’t be much more difficult.
Charlottes got enough travel sickness tablets to space us all out for the weekend.
Pip is still reeling from a long day with the kids at school.
And me? I don’t get picked on because I write the stories 😉
The journey has begun with lots of swearing, an overflowing boot and in Jordan’s words “too much stuff”. We must remember to pack lighter next time apparently…..
There’s been discussions of why no one thought of getting the train, how mad everyone must be to drive 8 hours to “simply walk a mountain” and the most important “what services will we stop at for dinner..” 🥘
Everyone has a job. Mines “events organiser and main driver”, Jordan’s is “social media manager”, Charlottes is “sandwich maker and making sure everyone’s fed!” And Pip is the “calm and voice of reason”.
Everyone is taking their roles seriously although it hasn’t come without some bickering.
There is no telling what tomorrow will bring on the mountain, along with the long drawn out 8 hour drive to get there…
Wish us luck and don’t forget you can still donate here 👇🏼
