Today is World Mental Health Day.

Take today as a reminder to check in with those around you, but also to check in with yourself and hug those hounds a little tighter.

On a personal note, my life and mental health would look very different without pets.

🐾 The family schnauzer Dexter would sit with me through panic attacks, saved me from developing agoraphobia as a teenager and now reminds me to just keep going.

🌊 My axolotls Toothless and Luna gave me companionship when I moved out and reminded me to keep calm as they floated around their tank.

🐀 My rats reminded me to live in the moment, the importance of friendship and to be true to yourself regardless of outside noise.

🐌 My Giant African Snail reminded me to take it at my own pace, eat more greens and the importance of home comforts.

🐹 My Guinea Pigs showed me the benefits of leaving my comfort zone, and the effect animal therapy can have on others.

🐶And then my Grootus. At my lowest he has made me get up, go outside and given my days purpose, routine and stability. He has provided me with unconditional love and companionship, forgiven my mistakes and is always available for a snuggle. He’s a plodder through life and reminds me to take it one paw at a time and appreciate every moment. Also, that a treat (or two) never hurts and a nap can make a lot of things better.

Today is a reminder to be a little more like our pets, never underestimate the positive impact we can have on others just by being ourselves, and the importance of talking to someone (hound or human) when we need a little more support. ❤️

Hello! 🐾

Our Etsy shop will remain closed this month whilst we review our pricing, suppliers and listings.

The Royal Mail price increase has proven to be the pawfect opportunity for us to sit down and look at making our little business more viable moving into the Woofmas season.

With Dognuts not being our full-time job (Groot works 24/7 at Napping HQ), and some 🍂Autumnal TLC 🍂being much needed for the humans, hound and house, we will be taking October to recuperate, redesign and get ready for Santa Paws.

🎄Our Etsy shop and Woofmas range will be launched FRIDAY 1ST NOVEMBER where we’ll be donning our Santa Hats, immersing ourselves in the festive spirit and resisting the urge to put the Christmas tree up until December! 🎄

In the meantime, we’ll still be available on socials and Etsy messages for any questions or queries!

🐾 IMPAWTANT 🐾

In light of the new postal charges from Royal Mail we have made the decision to pop our shop on hold to allow us to review how this increase will affect our business, and our pawesome customers.

We hope to be back on Wednesday with a little update, after the human leaves the rock she must have been under to miss this Royal Mail news 😅

Happy World Smile Day!

To celebrate here are 5 things that make our Groot ‘smile’:

😁 Treaties – biscuits, Bolognese or bones. You name it, Groot will eat it!

😊 Walkies – whether it’s round the block, on a beach, in a castle or across stepping stones in the Peak District, Groot loves a good adventure.

😃 Butt Scratches – head pats and belly rubs move over, Groot is all about those butt scratchy-scratches.

😌 Naps – whether it’s on the cool kitchen floor, or on the slobber stained sofa. In the home office whilst the human works, landing or stairs or best of all BED! Sleep is Groot’s life.

😍Humans – whilst they come a close second to food, Groot loves his humans and his favourite thing is snuggling in bed with both humans (preferably with a snack and cup of tea!).

Woof 🐾

We are excited to launch our limited edition ‘BPI Awareness Biscuit Box’ – available now on our Etsy shop!

Injured at birth, our human Ellie sustained a Brachial Plexus Injury limiting the movement, feeling and growth in her right arm and hand. Hence our ‘all orders are made single-handedly’ statement.

What’s this got to do with dogs I hear you bark?

Dogs too can have this injury, where the nerves in a limb are severely damaged as a result often of a fall or car accident.

To raise awareness of this preventable injury, we’ve launched some tasty treats for awareness week (Oct 14th – 20th). £2 from every box will go to Erb’s Palsy Group UK (who helped the human over the years), and all orders placed during awareness week will get an exclusive BPI awareness Groot’s Growl.

Order by Tuesday 8th October to join our pre-order group, ready for dispatch on Thursday 10th October and help us raise a hand (or paw) for those that can’t. 🙌🐕

We missed Feedbark Friday this week as the human had a rare dog-free evening out 😅

So, to make up for it here are some snaps from our day out to the Lakes yesterday, where Groot spent some of his shop-dog wage treating us all to an ice-cream 🍦and had a paddle in Windermere!

We’re now back in the Dognuts Den making your weekend orders and having a slow Sunday.

What the human lacks in social media prowess, we like to think we more than make up for with our orders. 😅
