Hi everyone 👋
Over the last year, you have probably noticed, I’ve not been very active on this page and for that I apologise for just disappearing.
I am still walking, however I mostly walk for another walker The Positive Pack
I am returning to this page but the majority of its content for now will be that of dogs over The Positive Pack.
We are back with a new car and as always our mimsafe vario gate system to make sure all pups are safe on our travels.
We are looking to start classes again in the near future so keep watching this space 👀

Safety is very important when travelling in a car.
There are so many products on the market aimed at pet parents for travel, however have never been crash tested 😬.
Please do your research before buying. You wouldn’t put a child in an unsafe car seat 🤔 so why is your pet any different.
At Spaniel Connections you can relax knowing your pets safety is our no1 priority. 🐶🐾🥰

Here at Spaniel Connections we only offer Solo walks as we like to keep things personal.
Every dog should enjoy their walk and sadly not all dogs love group walks, so we are here to cater to those who prefer the individual experience.
Solo walks are perfect for those who are nervous of other dogs or suffer from medical issues preventing them to enjoy group walks.
Group walks for puppies can be very over stimulating and in some cases dangerous, it’s important pups arnt over exercised whilst they are still developing, so we tailor each walk to the individual.
If you own more than one dog, that’s totally fine as family groups are welcome 🙂

It’s that time of year again 🎆🎇
Keep your pups safe 🐶🐾

It’s almost time 😁 Basil will be staying home this year while we work on impulse control, still a monkey around food. Instead we will be learning to build confidence around trick or treaters from a distance. kids in costumes can be very scary and it’s important we don’t push them into situations there not ready for, it’s far better to prepare in advance and set them up to succeed next time 👻🧛♂️🦇

Only a few days left, are you ready?!
If you really want to take your pets out with you, do trial runs throughout the month at a quiet time rewarding your dog, to build positive association and confidence.
Have your kids dress up to get them used to costumes.
Doing this with a young pup or rescue could proove terrifying, so always prepare well in advance.
Always monitor your pet during training, if they show any signs of stress give them a break, don’t force them.
There’s always a risk this time of year of unwanted fireworks so always be ready for the unknown.
Please please be careful and consider your pets welfare. Is it really worth it !

There almost here 😬 🎆🎇
Do you have a new puppy or a dog afraid of fireworks?
Check out this free webinar on how to best prepare them 👇👇👇
🔥 Firework season is almost upon us 🔥
For lots of dogs fireworks are scary, the bangs, whirls and lights are cause for concern.
Some dogs are mildly affected and some are heart breakingly petrified 💔
Every year, social media becomes flooded with anxious families begging for the fireworks to stop ⛔️
The truth is though.....
They aren't going to :-(
Personally I would love silent ones but right now my concern is how I CAN help all dogs this season!
That's why we are giving FREE access to our newly recorded Firework preparation webinar.
This webinar will help EVERY dog and familiy regardless of whether they:
😭 Petrified of fireworks/thunder
😞Mildly affected
🤔 A new pup/dog and it's unknown
😊 Currently showing no worries
At Spaniel Connections we specialise in spaniels and building your connection with your best friend.
Dogs aren’t just pets they are family 🥰
To help build your bond we use a variety of games and science proven methods, not only do these strengthen your relationship but teach your dog how to make good choices.
We don’t punish dogs by using aversive techniques, we encourage them to make great decisions by rewarding the good, giving them reason to offer the desired behaviour time and time again.
Training your dog should be fun and rewarding not boring and stressful.
Training your dog can be as easy as 3 minutes 3x a day, just pick a game and play, allow you and your dog to be successful. Using tv adverts is a great way to time your session and do something fun in that time.

🐾Socialising,
🐾Recall,
🐾Loose lead walking
and
🐾 Helping the reactive dog.

Hi everyone! Sorry I’ve been away for so long, some of you will be aware I lost my best friend end of July and it’s been a difficult time. Gwen was my first and my soul dog, she inspired me to be here today and I’m lost without her 💔
Basil is doing well and I will be starting again with updates from next week. 17 weeks old now, how did that happen 😂
New services now available and I’ll be posting about these over the coming weeks 😁

At Canine Concept Cadets we believe all training should be 'FUN', we do this by using positive reinforcement methods, we are against the use of choke chains, shock, spray & prong collars.
We use a scientifically proven method that uses 'GAMES' to teach concepts to provide 'REAL LIFE RESULTS'.
Dogs, just like toddlers learn a lot through 'PLAY' this is because it stimulates learning.
Teaching 'CONCEPTS' by playing games is a fun way to help your dog to learn how to make the 'RIGHT CHOICES'.
Common problems:
Pulls on the lead
Reactive to noise
No recall
Nervous around other dogs and people
Jumps up
Counter surf
These are just a few behaviours that can be changed by teaching concepts.
We use concepts such as 'Calmness' to help dogs who are reactive or over excited, we may teach calmness by showing our dogs that being calm is good by teaching 'Boundaries', this is teaching them that their bed or boundary of choice is a place to be calm and relaxed, this can be done by using games that bring down their energy levels.
Concept training can be taught to all age groups, including the older dog. It is a great way to get the whole family involved in the training as it is so much fun.
Here at Canine Concept Cadets we specialise in 'LIFE SKILLS' this is the foundation every dog needs to be able to succeed. Without life skills your dog wont understand that you want them to have a great recall wherever you are, not just in your garden or at training class. We want your dog to be set up for success so they are able to make the right choices.
